"Been dying to share this news with you," Chan said on Twitter. "I couldn't be happier to be coming back to the MCU to play this iconic character and to work with this incredible group of people."

She has also made appearances in 2014's Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, 2016's Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and 2017's Transformers: The Last Knight.
Other Eternals cast members announced at the D23 Expo included Game of Thrones' Kit Harington as Dane Whitman/Black Knight and's Barry Keoghan as Druig. Principal photography on the film is said to have begun in July.
Directed by Chloé Zhao with a screenplay by Matthew and Ryan Firpo, Eternals stars Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gilgamesh and Angelina Jolie as Thena.
