Marvel Studios drops a new promo for Eternals, recapping the events of Avengers: Endgame, teasing alien beasts, Earth-shifting events, giant monsters and the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The 30-second spot features clips from the upcoming film's trailers. "Five years ago, Thanos erased half of the population of the universe. But the people of this planet brought everyone back with the snap of a finger." Salma Hayek's Ajak then says that, where humanity once believed in gods, they will come to believe in them again.

With the Eternals premiere only weeks away, Marvel Studios has been releasing a number of promos teasing epic action sequences, superpowers unlike any the MCU has ever seen before. Director Chloé Zhao has previously teased that the ambitious film will attempt to present two separate storylines, one storyline set in the Eternals' early days as a "formidable team and a close family unit," and the other storyline set in the present, which sees the team now separated and fractured, living amongst the humans.

It was previously reported that the film will also screen at the upcoming Rome International Film Festival. While specific roles and storylines concerning Eternals and the titular team have not been released, the film's stars have teased at least a few important qualities and details about their characters.

Eternals is one of the MCU's larger ensemble films, with a star-studded cast including Gemma Chan as Sersi, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Angelina Jolie as Thena, Barry Keoghan as Druig and Kit Harington as Dane Whitman/Black Knight.

Jolie has previously explained of her reasons for joining the film as Thena, "I don't usually lean towards superhero or sci-fi films... It's not usually what I'm looking to do. It felt like something else was happening in this film, though. It was very character-driven." She continued, "These guys aren't Spider-Man or Captain America or the Hulk," Jolie said. "A lot of hardcore fans won't know who the Eternals are. Introducing them all at once, that isn't easy."

Actor Haaz Sleiman, who plays the husband of Phastos, expanded on the human aspect of the film, explaining that it humanized LGBTQ+ relationships and families, saying, "I don't want to sound arrogant, but I feel like Marvel, they were very smart to cast me in it because I got to humanize the hell out of it. I got to humanize an LGBTQ+ family and show how beautiful they are."

Directed by Chloé Zhao, Eternals hits theaters Nov. 5.
