Anime News Network has reported on the new poster for the live-action adaptation of Attack on Titan. The image gives fans their first glimpse of the live-action iteration of the series' Colossal Titan.
The poster depicts protagonist Eren Yeager (Haruma Miura) standing tall -- at least as tall as he can -- in the face of a 400 foot tall Titan. Attack on Titan is based on the manga of the same name, which takes place in a world where humanity has been forced into massive, walled enclaves in order to protect themselves from the giant, violent Titans that roam free.
The manga, which began in 2009, has published fifteen volumes in the past five years. An anime series was released in 2013 and aired in the United States as part of Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. The live-action film will be split into two installments, with the first expected in summer 2015. The massive Titans will be brought to life through a mix of practical and CG effects. Attack on Titan is directed by Shinji Higuchi.
