The following contains spoilers for Enola Holmes 2, now available on Netflix.

Millie Bobby Brown's titular character is clever in Enola Holmes 2. She doggedly pursues clues regarding women murdered in a factory scandal, helped by Henry Cavill's astute Sherlock following the money trail. In the process, both siblings uncover a nasty business and political conspiracy that shakes London up. However, as fun and engaging as this sequel is, some plot holes and weird mysteries arise.

Enola Holmes Has Invisibility Mode

Enola infiltrates the matchstick factory to learn why Sarah Chapman's gone missing. While the foreman's distracted, she sneaks up and down the stairs, gleaning intel from the office. Yet, none of the floor guards or the workers raise a signal. It's all in plain sight, making it seem like Enola's got invisibility powers.

Sarah Leaves Bessie to the Dogs in Enola Holmes 2

Sarah fakes her death and pretends to be an aristocrat, Cicely, to partner with her beau, William, and expose the factory. However, she forgets about her little "sister," Bessie. Sarah leaves her in Mae's care, but when Mae gets killed, the girl stays with another worker, Doris. And since workers are being targeted, Sarah should have had William hide the kid. This oversight leads to corrupt cops kidnapping Bessie, with Sarah only realizing her folly after it's too late.

McIntyre's Arrest Makes No Sense

Eventually, Team Enola exposes the factory and Treasury Minister McIntyre for running the scheme, which saw women dying from using cheap phosphorus. McIntyre's secretary, Mira, gets outed as the one blackmailing them, so Lestrade and his police force have all evidence to take everyone in. Instead, they watch McIntyre burn evidence and vocally admit he's above the law. However, later on, they work with Tewkesbury to arrest the guys. That doesn't add up because the cops had them dead to rights with the confession, so the film should have explained why cuffs got slapped on late in a rushed finale.

Enola Holmes' Family Are Awful Guardians

The franchise is about family, yet it's never explained why Sherlock doesn't want Enola to stay at his Baker Street flat early on. After all, he's her legal ward and knows forces are trying to kill her. However, it's only when he sees her success that he wants her to join. In addition, her mom Eudoria blows her out of prison and wishes her well, despite knowing folks are still trying to kill her. Eudoria should have accompanied her as this fits the suffragette movement, but she just hopes for the best.

Team Enola Gets Away With a Heinous Crime

Enola Holmes 2 doesn't address the prison break

Eudoria is a wanted felon, and by blowing the prison up, other criminals escape as well. However, Enola's never interrogated about it or her ties to her mom. Nothing even comes from Edith being an accomplice in public to this. In fact, Edith's helping Enola with her new agency, so it seems police reports don't mean anything, or these women don't have to answer for breaking the law, even if they have a righteous cause.

The Factory Never Stops Working in Enola Holmes 2

Enola Holmes 2 needs more Eudoria and less Sherlock

The finale paints the factory in a quant light for several reasons. Lyon (the owner) lost his son William, yet his remorse isn't shown. It's also never explained if Lyon goes down with McIntyre. To top things off, the factory lets Bessie, Sarah and Enola in, knowing they're exposing things. That makes no sense, and there's no public or media reaction until the ladies walk off the job. That shouldn't be the case, as Lestrade and the cops have everything to shut the place down.

To see these plot holes arise, Enola Holmes 2 is now streaming on Netflix.
