Many talented English voice actors take on roles in anime, games, and so much more every day. A common theme with these voice actors is that they appear in works across genres. After all, acting is their job and passion.

Sometimes fans will recognize an actor's voice the moment they hear it, but may not be able to place it. Other times, the voice is so different that it's a surprise when the actor is revealed. While distinct voices such as Cherami Leigh tend to be identified quickly, many other fantastic voice actors play very different roles that can be more difficult to identify.

10 Kayli Mills

Kayli Mills Voice Actress with Emilia Re Zero and Hinata March Comes in like a Lion

Kayli Mills has been featured in several newer series, most recently as Emilia in Re:Zero and as Alice in the wildly popular anime Sword Art Online. Mills has been acting for over a decade, beginning with video game roles before moving into anime. She plays notable characters such as Piyon in Hunter X Hunter, Runa in Kakegurui, and Hinata of March Comes In Like A Lion.

More recently she voiced Gray in the Fate series spin-off, Lord El-Melloi II's Case Files, Tsukasa in the Magia Record anime, and Deldry in The Seven Deadly Sins. Mills also lends her voice to games and is currently the voice of Keqing in the hit mobile gameGenshin Impact.

9 Spike Spencer

Spike Spencer's latest big role is Inojin Yamanaka in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. However, he has many more to his name. Beginning his acting career in 1989, Spencer played many smaller roles before landing his first big part playing Shinji Ikari in Neon Genesis Evangelion.

He would go on to reprise Shinji many times, but he did not stop there. Other notable roles in his career include playing Go in Pretear, Hanataro Yamada in Bleach, Takuma Ichijo in Vampire Knight, and Snake in Black Butler Book Of Circus. He also played Paylor Sakaki in the anime version of God Eater.

8 Carrie Keranen

Carrie Keranen's first big anime part came when she played the role of Misato Katsuragi in the re-dub of the genre-defining Neon Genesis Evangelion. Keranen would go on to play several more important roles over the years. Some of her notable roles include Sailor Galaxia in the original Sailor Moon anime, Caska in BerserkMurrue Ramius in the Gundam Seed remaster, and Maiya Hisau in Fate/Zero.

In 2012, Keranen would go on to play Tomoe Mami of Madoka Magica, a series that redefined the Magical Girl genre and a role she would later reprise in Magia Record. In the wildly popular anime Erased, Keranen plays the role of Akemi Hinazuki. Keranen has also voiced some big video game roles including Kirika Towa Alma in Shining Resonance Refrain.

7 Sean Chiplock

Sean Chiplock began his anime acting career in 2008 when he voiced Kuroma in Toradora! From there, Chiplock played several other roles across anime and video games such as Heric in Gargantia On The Verdurous Planet and Ibuse in Coppelion, eventually landing the large role of Natsuki Subaru in Re:Zero.

Some of Chiplock's other notable characters include playing Dante Mogro in Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans and Grimm in Hero Mask. Chiplock also has many notable video game roles including The Great Deku Tree in The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild, The Archangel in Catherine: Full Body, Yuuki Mishima in Persona 5 Royal, and Diluc in Genshin Impact.

6 Sarah Williams

Sarah Williams began her career with the role of Sailor Star Healer in Sailor Moon in 1996. From there, she played many notable parts, including Sayaka Miki in Madoka Magica, Sayu Hisanuma in A Lull In The Sea, Neferpitou in Hunter X Hunter, and Nonon Jakuzure in Kill la Kill. In more recent years, Williams voiced Saya Sasamiya in The Asterisk War: The Academy City On The Water, Adele Von Ascham/Mile in Didn't I Say To Make My Abilities Average In The Next Life?!, and Lisbeth in Sword Art Online. Williams has lent her voice to many games as well, such as playing Chihaya Mifune in Persona 5 Royal.

5 Micah Solusod

Micah Solusod has been voice acting for over 2 decades and has a lot to show for it. Beginning with a simple voice part in Dragon Ball: Curse Of The Blood Rubies, Solusod would go on to voice major roles like Soul in Soul Eater, Ao Fukai in Eureka Seven: Ao, Miyuki Sagara in Red Data Girl, and Yukine in Noragami.

4 Melissa Fahn

Melissa Fahn had small roles in many popular anime beginning in the 1970s. In the 1990s as anime gained popularity in North America and became more widely broadcast, Fahn landed many notable roles. One of her earliest big parts was playing Edward in Cowboy Bebop.

Others include Rika Nonaka in Digimon: Digital Monsters, Haruka Kaminogi in Noein: To Your Other Self, Neptune in Hyperdimension Neptuniaand Rider in Fate/ Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works, a role Fahn has reprised in the movie trilogy, Fate/ Stay Night: Heaven's Feel. 3 Robbie Daymond

Robbie Daymond has been playing big roles since the 1990s when he voiced Tuxedo Mask in Sailor Moon, the defining shojo anime of the 90s. He went on to play Tsuruga Ren in Skip Beat!, Chrollo Lucilfer in Hunter X Hunter, Issei Ryudou in Fate/ Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works, Ran Izumii in Durararax2, and Shunsuke Otosaka in Charlotte. 

More recently, Daymond has voiced Reinhard van Astrea in Re:Zero, Gilthunder in The Seven Deadly Sins, Mitsuki in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, Sota Higurashi in Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon, and Merlin in Fate / Grand Order - Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia. Daymond has several notable video game roles to his name, including Goro Akechi in Persona 5, Sorey in Tales of Zestiria, and Prompto Argentum in Final Fantasy XV. 2 Jeannie Tirado

Jeannie Tirado has been voice acting for about a decade, but that window of time has not stopped her from playing some major roles in anime. Tirado starred as Mikoto Asuka in Yamada-kun And The Seven Witches, Riko Sakurauchi in Love Live! Sunshine!!, and Takako in Orange.

More recently she voiced Ryuzu in Clockwork Planet, Siluca Meletes in Record of Grancrest War, and Norman in The Promised Neverland. In the last year, she also voiced Catarina Claes, the protagonist of My Next Life As A Villainess, and Endorsi Jahad of Tower of God. While she has been acting for less time than many other notable Voice Actors, she proves with these roles why she is a name fans should remember.

1 Nicolas Roye

Nicolas Roye Voice Actor with Mikey from Digimon Fusion and Nicole from My Life as a Villainess

Nicolas Roye has been acting since the 1990s. One of his first big roles was as Shingo Tsukino, the younger brother of Usagi of Sailor Moon, a role he reprised in Sailor Moon Crystal. Roye went on to play Shisui Uchiha in Naruto Shippudenan anime that received many accolades for its voice acting, Mikey of Digimon Fusion, and Chuuya Nakahara in Bungou Stray Dogs.

In the last few years some of Roye's major roles include Shinki in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations and Rudy in If It's For My Daughter, I'd Even Defeat A Demon Lord. In 2020, Roye provided the voices of Hatz in Tower of God, and Nicol Ascart in My Next Life as a Villainess.
