In an announcement for her Our Shared Shelf book club, former Harry Potter star and UN Women Goodwill Ambassador Emma Watson shared the first major celebrity Halloween costume of 2018. Given the fact that Our Shared Shelf is a book club Watson started to promote empowerment among women through literature, it only seems fitting that she has chosen to dress up as DC's Wonder Woman.

On the Our Shared Shelf Goodreads page, Watson explains her reasons for starting the book club. "There is so much amazing stuff out there! Funny, inspiring, sad, thought-provoking, empowering! I’ve been discovering so much that, at times, I’ve felt like my head was about to explode," Watson wrote. "I decided to start a feminist book club, as I want to share what I’m learning and hear your thoughts too."

Meanwhile, the character of Wonder Woman has certainly made waves in the world of female-led media. The character has always been a mainstay of DC's product, appearing in countless comic books and television shows. However, it was through Patty Jenkins' 2017 film Wonder Woman, which starred Gal Gadot as the titular character, that Princess Diana was became a mainstream phenomenon.

Naturally, it is this version of Wonder Woman that seems to have inspired Watson's costume as she continues to promote her ever-growing book club. This photo also begs the question of what exactly a Wonder Woman/Yoda team-up movie would look like, but that's beside the point.
