An frequent member but occasional adversary of The X-Men, Emma Frost is one of the most iconic mutants in comic book history. A gifted telepath, she also possesses the ability to shapeshift into her signature Diamond Form, which grants her near invulnerability and superhuman strength.

Considered an Omega-Level Threat, Emma's power puts her on the same field as Jean Grey and Hulk, even though she often goes underestimated. With her extensive career as both a villain and hero, Emma's had more than enough opportunities to display just how powerful she really is.

10 Telepathically Shielded Her Entire Team

Telepaths often try to get the better of each other in the Marvel universe, entire battles being waged through their minds or on the astral plane. Sheer power often allows one party to overpower the other, but regardless of raw will, telepaths can usually detect each other's presence.

Emma was once able to shield an entire team of X-Men (and Deadpool) from telepathic connection, doing so by both cloaking their minds and by rearranging "their individual, distinctive thought patterns." Her expertise with this ability allows her even to be shielded from enhancing equipment like Cerebro.

9 "Shutting Off" Others' Powers

Though it could be seen as a level of mind control, negating and suppressing an individual's abilities— mutant or otherwise— takes a certain kind of finesse. Additionally, it's not a complete kind of mind control either, as those who are unfortunate enough to experience it seem to retain their free will.

Emma was once able to completely suppress Cyclops' optic blasts, a feat hard to establish without the proper technology considering that his mutation is always "on."

8 Overpowering Professor X

Though regarded as one of the most powerful telepaths in the world, Professor Charles Xavier more than meets his match anytime Emma is against him. The Professor is considered a Level 9 telepath, while Emma asserts that she's a Level 10, telling Wolverine that she could easily strip the Psi-Shields placed by Xavier from his mind, and the process would leave him little more than a babbling infant.

Emma further demonstrated her telepathic superiority in X-Men: Legacy #216, when she asserted herself within Xavier's mind and "walked" through his memories, an act he was powerless to prevent.

7 Transfer Of Consciousness

Telepaths in the Marvel universe have often been depicted as having astral projection capabilities, essentially allowing their consciousness to explore outside of their bodies which remain in a coma-like state. It's a useful technique for individuals to scout areas undetected— but some, like Emma, have taken it even further.

More than once, Emma's demonstrated the ability to place her consciousness in another's body and notably swapped her and Iceman's minds, allowing her to utilize his powers to their fullest potential.

6 Controlling (Part Of) The Phoenix Force

The Phoenix Five and Hope Summers

The Phoenix Force is one of the most powerful beings in Marvel's canon, requiring an immense amount of focus and concentration to fully control. Its most notable avatar is Jean Grey, who is arguably the one who can best control it. However, when Jean is either dead or otherwise unavailable, The Phoenix Force has a habit of targeting her children.

During the events of the Avengers Vs. X-Men storyline, The Phoenix Force was attacked by Iron Man, hoping to destroy it before it reached Hope Summers. The entity instead split itself among Namor, Cyclops, Colossus, Magik, and Emma.

5 Withstood Hulk's Blows Head-On

There's no doubt that Hulk is one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel universe, taking on opponents like Thanos and Colossus, and even demonstrating the ability to overload Black Panther's Vibranium Panther Habit— a feat thought to be impossible. Considered an Omega-Level threat, his rage is feared by many.

When Hulk confronted Professor X about his banishment into space during World War Hulk: X-Men #2, Xavier willingly surrendered himself, but the X-Men did not. Though initially not participating in the fight, Emma morphed to her Diamond Form to aid her friends and brethren, delivering a few punches and kicks to the rampaging Hulk before absorbing many of his blows, a testament to her strength and durability.

4 Elevated Iceman's Powers To Omega Levels

As previously mentioned, Emma was once in possession of Iceman's body, and by extension, his powers. She morphed his ice-form to be more menacing, using his abilities to wreak havoc throughout the mansion in the search for answers about the fate of the Hellions, the students she'd taken under her wing.

Iceman later showed resentment and anger at being unable to access the abilities Emma had demonstrated, despite his extensive stay as part of the institute. Though she did not share all of his secret abilities with him, Emma would eventually help to guide him little by little.

3 Telepathically Linked Every Member Of The X-Men At Once

Again, The Phoenix Force seeks out Jean Grey whenever it can, preferring her mastery over it and believing that she is its true host. However, it did not always realize this at first, and once sought out Cyclops during X-Men: Phoenix — Endsong, believing it needed his optic blasts. Emma tried to control it at first but was transformed into Dark Phoenix, only saved by Jean's forceful separation of the two.

Jean herself also started to fall prey to the side of the Dark Phoenix. With quick thinking, Emma contacted every member of the X-Men, channeling their thoughts of love and support to Jean, successfully allowing Jean to become the White Phoenix.

2 Reassembled After Shattering

Emma Frost Thor

Though nearly invulnerable in her Diamond Form, specific instances of high power have caused Emma to shatter, most notably when being shot by a diamond bullet. Her weaknesses have varied between her incarnations (with the most ridiculous one being just metal), but it seems fitting that the power of a god could break her.

When she was an avatar for the Phoenix Force as part of The Phoenix Five, Thor sought to put her out of the fight in AVX #4. Emma taunted Thor with both power and flirtation, but the God of Thunder slammed Mjölnir against her Diamond Form again and again, eventually shattering her. The diamond shards flew back down to Earth, ripping through Thor and reassembling Emma to completion, and she proceeded to beat him senseless.

1 Absorbing & Destroying The Full Phoenix Force

Emma Frost Facing Down The Phoenix

In her first major television role as part of Wolverine and the X-Men, Emma plays a key role in the overarching plot of the series, helping the X-Men to locate their former members and bring them back under one roof following the disappearances of Professor X and Jean Grey. Towards the end of the series, she's also revealed as a member of the Hellfire Club, who wanted to destroy the Phoenix Force dormant in Jean's mind.

The other members of the Hellfire Club then revealed they would rather control the Force rather than destroy it, much to Emma's surprise and dismay. Wanting to redeem herself, she rescued a captured Jean Grey and moved to destroy the Phoenix Force by absorbing it into her own body, sending it out into space in a final explosion before the stress of the act shattered her body. Though seemingly dead, killing a cosmic being such as the Phoenix Force proved Emma's abilities as an Omega-Level mutant.
