“Revenge” is set to wrap its four-season run on ABC this Sunday, but Emily VanCamp isn’t straying from the Disney corporate family. Deadline has word that she’ll return as Agent 13/Sharon Carter in 2016’s “Captain America: Civil War,” a role she originated in last year’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.”
VanCamp returning isn’t unexpected, but Deadline’s report looks to confirm what previously appeared to be a strong possibility. The outlet says Sharon Carter’s specific role in the “Civil War” narrative is “under wraps.” The film already has a long list of confirmed players — headlined by Chris Evans returning as Captain America, plus “Avengers” team members Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Black Widow (Scarlet Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner); the Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Baron Zemo (Daniel Brühl), Crossbones (Frank Grillo), Martin Freeman in an unspecified role and the introduction of Chadwick Boseman as the Black Panther. Additionally, the new live-action Spider-Man is widely expected to debut in “Civil War.”
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo — returning from “Winter Soldier” — “Captain America: Civil War” is scheduled for release on May 6, 2016.
