Game of Thrones' eighth and final season was controversial among fans and critics, receiving negative reactions regarding everything from plot points to lighting. One of the most famous Season 8 blunders, however, was the notorious "coffee cup" incident. Now, we finally know who is responsible.

On the Oct. 30 episode of The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen, spoke to host Jimmy Fallon about the incident and revealed the true culprit.

"We had a party before the Emmys recently. "And Conleth, who plays Varys, who's sitting next to me in that scene, he pulls me aside and says 'Emilia, I've got to tell you, something. The coffee cup was mine. She then added that Hill apologized: "'I'm sorry darling, I didn't want to say anything because it seemed the heat was very much on you,'" he said to her.

The scene in question was from Episode 4, "The Last of the Starks," where a misplaced Starbucks coffee cup slipped under the radar and made it into the final cut of one of the scenes. The internet had a field day with the indecent -- and so did the Game of Thrones actors themselves. Previously, Jimmy Fallon asked Sophie Turner, who played Sansa Stark on the show, about the origin of the infamous Starbucks cup. She said that the cup was in front of Emilia Clarke during the scene and obviously belonged to her.

Game of Thrones stars Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Jaime Lannister, Lena Headey as Cersei Lannister, Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen, Sophie Turner as Sansa Stark, Maisie Williams as Arya Stark and Kit Harington as Jon Snow.
