Amell shared an image on Twitter of what seems to be a screener for the crossover on one of his three TVs. The first image in the set shows Tyler Hoechlin's Superman in his black suit. The superhero's eyes are glowing red. The shot is labelled "temp VFX," indicating that it could change by the time the crossover debuts. The second image comes straight from a teaser for the event and shows Melissa Benoist's Supergirl behind bars. Amell's daughter Mavi seems to be on the floor watching with him.
A number of actors are set to make their Arrowverse debuts, including Ruby Rose as Batwoman/Kate Kane, Cassandra Jean Amell as Nora Fries, LaMonica Garrett as The Monitor, Bob Frazer as Psycho-Pirate and Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane. The event will also see the return of Hoechlin as Superman. The actor has not appeared as the character since the show's second season, though characters have made reference to him.
A poster for the event revealed Amell wearing the Flash’s outfit and Grant Gustin, who plays the Scarlet Speedster, dressed up like the Green Arrow, while another photo shows the return of John Wesley Shipp as Barry Allen from the 90s TV series.
This year's Arrowverse crossover event will involve the casts of Supergirl, Arrow, and The Flash. The event will unfold over three nights, starting with a special episode of The Flash on Sunday December 9 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Then, it continues Monday, December 10, with Arrow and concludes on Tuesday, December 11, with Supergirl.
