The Tribeca Games Spotlight has revealed more details on the upcoming showcase as well as a star-studded guest list.

A new expansion of the iconic Tribeca Film Festival, the Tribeca Games Spotlight will highlight eight upcoming indie games selected by a panel of specialists and critics. The event is described as "A digital showcase featuring exclusive gameplay and creator interviews from Tribeca's official selections."

The Tribeca Games Spotlight has also unveiled its list of guests who will be appearing during the showcase. The list includes high-profile veterans of the video game industry like Hideo Kojima, Reggie Fils-Aimé and Geoff Keighley. Several mainstream media stars will also be attending, including Elijah Wood, James McAvoy and Norman Reedus, all of whom have previously or are currently working on video game projects.

The Tribeca Games Spotlight has already confirmed the eight games that will be featured in the showcase. The list includes Harold Halibut, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Lost in Random, Norco, Sable, Signalis, The Big Con and Twelve Minutes. While many of the games present have already been extensively showcased, it's likely that fans will see new content and gameplay during the event.

The Tribeca Film Festival announced in 2020 that it would add a video game category to its list of entry selections for 2021. Before the Games Spotlight showcase, the festival had featured games like League of Legends and Shadow of the Tomb Raider but video games have historically never been eligible for awards.

The Tribeca Games Spotlight kicks takes place on June 11 at 2 p.m. EDT/ 11 a.m. PDT. Fans will be able to watch the showcase on either YouTube or Twitch.
