A little over three years ago, Bethesda Softworks released a teaser for the long-awaited The Elder Scrolls VI. Since then, there has been nothing but silence from the developer.

Xbox head Phil Spencer recently discussed the upcoming Fable game on the Unlocked podcast and mentioned that the game is still in development. He then mentioned The Elder Scrolls 6 and noted that the Bethesda game is even further out. A report from ComicBook.com suggested that Fable will not be releasing until at least 2023, placing The Elder Scrolls 6's release even further out than has been previously thought-- in 2024 at the very earliest.

While the next main instalment in The Elder Scrolls video game series is evidently still years away from release, Bethesda, which became a subsidiary of Microsoft through the acquisition of ZeniMax Media in March, continues to provide gamers with ways to explore Tamriel through The Elder Scrolls Online, which recently became available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Aside from the MMORPG, Bethesda has provided a number of updates and remasters for the developer's last major release, Skyrim, which came to consoles and PC in 2011.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim continues to serve an enthusiastic modding community that has offered changes ranging from redesigns of cities and characters to an entirely new game built from Skyrim itself.
