During this year's iteration of the Comic-Con@Home virtual convention, Justice League alum Phil LaMarr returned to once again host the Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards.

LaMarr announced the winners of the 2021 Eisner Awards during Comic-Con tonight, July 23. This year, James Tynion IV took home the award for Best Writer for his work on Something Is Killing the Children, Wynd, Batman, The Department of Truth and Razorblades, while Michael Allred won Best Penciller/Inker for Bowie: Stardust, Rayguns & Moonage Daydreams. Meanwhile, Junji Ito received the honor of Best Writer/Artist for Remina and Venus in the Blind Spot.

Elsewhere, Usagi Yojimbo by Stan Sakai won Best Continuing Series, while Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen by Matt Fraction and Steve Lieber took home the honor for Best Limited Series. The award for Best New Series went to Black Widow by Kelly Thompson and Elena Casagrande. LaMarr was also sure to compliment Gene Luen Yang, who won Best Publication for Teens for Dragon Hoops, as well as two separate awards for Superman Smashes the Klan.
