Edge made a surprise return to WWE Raw, where the Rated-R Superstar announced that he has officially declared for the Royal Rumble match on Jan. 31."I need to win the #RoyalRumble. I need to main event WrestleMania, and take back what I never lost," Edge said in his Raw promo. He also posted a Tweet stating, "One year ago. Feels like a decade doesn't it? Last years story was once in a lifetime. No sense trying to recreate that. Impossible. I don't have you there. This year my journey is different. I'm not just happy to be back. I want back what I never lost and it starts this Sunday."RELATED: Randy Orton Reveals ‘Burned’ Face, Attacks Alexa Bliss on Raw

Edge has been out of action after suffering a torn tricep in his match against Randy Orton at WWE Backlash last year. It was the 2020 Royal Rumble where Edge made his return to WWE after being retired for nine years. Edge's return primarily focused on a feud with Randy Orton, calling back to their days as the Rated RKO tag team. It is unknown if their rivalry will renew following Royal Rumble, though Orton currently finds himself in a feud with Bray Wyatt and Alexa Bliss, with the later burning Orton's face.

The 2021 Royal Rumble takes place Sunday, Jan. 31 on WWE Network.
