Ed Boon, co-creator of Mortal Kombat, says he tried to get a Marvel fighting game made. While he can't discuss the details of his talks with Marvel (and clear enthusiasm for the property), he did let it slip he'd like to make a fighting game that pits DC against Marvel.RELATED: DC's Injustice Universe Is Everything the DCEU's Films Should BeBoon is well known to long-time gaming fans as the co-creator of the famous Mortal Kombat series. In a recent flash interview with Game Informer, the creator revealed he had spoken to Marvel in regards to potentially collaborating, but couldn't share the details.

As clearly evidenced by the clip, there is no proof that Boon is currently making a Marvel vs. DC fighting game, nor is that what he implied. However, Boon has worked with the DC license before, with both the Injustice fighting game series and the crossover DC vs. Mortal Kombat.

It makes sense that he'd express interest in Marvel, with it being one of the most widely beloved franchises around. However, as there is no news to report in regards to actual Marvel-related projects on Boon's agenda, do not take this to be confirmation of any Marvel vs. DC game in the near future.

But you can look forward to Boon's next project: Mortal Kombat 11.

Mortal Kombat 11 releases on April 23 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.
