Early Captain Marvel Screenings Declare Goose Stole the Show

With reports emerging from early screenings of Captain Marvel, it looks like -- as good as Brie Larson's Carol Danvers is -- the person who steals the show is none other than her cat, Goose.

Collider's Steven Weintraub disclosed as much on Twitter, notifying fans that by the time the Marvel Cinematic Universe's first female-led solo ends, it'll be the feline making headlines. "After it ended everyone was talking about the cat," he tweeted, "Stole the show. Must. See. This. Movie. Stat."

It's very interesting to hear and leaves us wondering just what role Goose will play in the film. The cat's origin story and name have been tweaked for the MCU, and while we posited he may be the reason Nick Fury lost his eye, now it seems Goose could be poised to help Carol fight off the Skrull Invasion in an even bigger way.

Only time will tell, but with his own character poster and word emerging that he isn't fully a cat, we can't wait to see if Goose is a Flerken in disguise or another kind of alien ready to prove he can be one of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, and possibly set the stage to undo Thanos' snap come Avengers: Endgame.

Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Jude Law as the commander of Starforce, Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Djimon Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, and Ben Mendelsohn. The film arrives on March 8, 2019.
