Dynamite Entertainment is returning to the world of Red Sonja this summer with Sonjaversal #6, an unexpected continuation of the multiverse story.

Originally meant to be a five-volume miniseries, the story of Red Sonja and her many cross-dimensional personas continues with writer Christopher Hastings and artist Pasquale Qualano at the helm. "I love to play with genre, and this arc is going to be all about mashing up Red Sonja's sword and sorcery with noir, then gothic horror, then space opera and 80s action movies. It's a blast," Hastings said in the press release.

In volume six, readers will be thrown into a film noir universe and follow along with Noir Sonja, whose investigation into an upheaval in the criminal underworld is being hindered by her new cross-dimensional counterparts. The new story introduced in Sonjaversal #6 stands out with its focus on individual Sonjas, making it a good starting place for newcomers to the comic.

Sonjaversal #6 will also have five different variant covers by artists Lucio Parrillo, Joseph Michael Linsner, Jae Lee (Locke & Key/The Sandman Universe: Hell & Gone) and Junggeun Yoon, including one variant featuring Sonjaversal cosplay.

The Sonjaversal collection is an offshoot of the Red Sonja comic series introducing various iterations of the character Red Sonja from multiple different universes. Red Sonja was originally part of the Marvel universe from 1973 to 1986. The story was picked up by Dynamite in 2005, where it continued for 80 issues. The Sonjaverse miniseries launched Feb. 2021 and was met with positive reception, leading to the continuation of the story. Sonjaversal #6 will be available July 2021 both through local comic book retailers and digital platforms including ComiXology, Kindle, iBooks, Google Play, Dynamite Digital and ComicsPlus.
