Official Press Release
May 25, 2006, Runnemede, NJ – Dynamite Entertainment is committed to presenting not only the best new comics, but the best classic material as well, featured in all-new, remastered, definitive editions!
Current fans may now know him as the writer of Conan, which is garnering lots of attention! But to legions of the faithful, Tim Truman is the writer, artist and creator of such legendary titles as Grimjack and SCOUT!
Truman followed up his work on Grimjack with what many consider his masterpiece – scout! And now, fans both new and old can experience the singular vision of Truman's -- SCOUT: VOLUME 1 TPB (MAY063036) -- in a re-mastered, definitive edition from Dynamite Entertainment!
"Scout is one of THE classic comics from the '80's that fans remember fondly! We're working hand in hand with the master on this one," explained Dynamite Spokesperson J. Allen. "Tim is a vital and active creator, and it's an honor to work with him on Scout and to present this powerful piece of graphic literature to his legions of fans and admirers."
"Fans have been asking me for years to reprint the Scout material and for years I resisted it, since I seldom like to look at my own work," added Truman. "But the time seemed right. Scout was conceived in response to the bizarre and scary right wing political climate of the 1980's. It seemed past time for him to ride again. Dynamite has done a great job remastering the original artwork."
Scout, originally published in 1987 and created by Timothy Truman features the Native American hero, Emanuel Santana, and his one-man war against oppressive governmental forces in a post-apocalyptic United States.
This volume features the first 7 issues of the series, all featuring the writing and art of Truman, remastered and recolored for this volume! Plus, Truman provides a new, original cover!
Bonus features include: Introduction by John Ostrander, and afterword – in the form of an interview – with creator Tim Truman, and original covers.
