Dynamite Entertainment's upcoming revival of "Will Eisner's The Spirit" now has an interior artist attached, as revealed by The Hollywood Reporter. Joining writer Matt Wagner in chronicling new adventures of the Golden Age hero are artist Dan Schkade and colorist Brennan Wagner. Additionally, "The Goon" creator Eric Powell will provide covers for the series. John Cassaday and Alex Ross will also contribute variant covers for "The Spirit."

The new "Spirit" series was announced back in February and is expected to debut this July as part of the character's 75th anniversary celebration. The new ongoing will pick up two years after the Spirit's disappearance as Commissioner Dolan, Ellen, Ebony White and Sammy continue their search for their missing ally.

Matt Wagner Brings Will Eisner's "The Spirit" Back From The Dead

Before announcing Dan Schkade's involvement, Wagner spoke about the search for an interior artist in an interview with CBR. "[W]e've gone through several possibilities looking for the right artist," said Wagner. "I'm pretty confident we'll find the right person. It is a balancing act again. Eisner struck a wonderful balance between that humorous aspect and also sheer adventure and drama. That's a really hard balance to find these days. Darwyn Cooke was a perfect choice at DC because he's able to do that. But when you look at the crop of talent in the field these days, people tend to go either the superhero action direction or the humor direction. So I'm hoping we'll find someone who can strike that balance."
