Long known as "Superman," NBA star Dwight Howard is hanging up his cape and adopting a new superhero moniker: The Flash.

This is a complete reboot, too, with the Houston Rockets center going so far as to get a Flash-inspired makeover for his 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. It has a custom paint job, logos on the hood, gas tank and seats, and special gold and red rims, at a cost of about $65,000.

Although Howard is no stranger to superhero-themed cars, the owner of 713 Motoring in Houston told TMZ Sports that, "when he came to the Rockets, he wanted a change. He said he no longer wanted to be called Superman. He is now Flash out here in Houston."

As in DC Comics, the mantle of the Flash is also a legacy in the NBA: Dwyane Wade carried the nickname for about six years, but dropped it in 2010.
