Black Adam star Dwayne Johnson isn't considering running for President of the United States anymore.

Johnson ruled out the possibility of an election campaign after years of expressing his interest in running for president. "It’s off the table," the former professional wrestler said. Despite not being interested in the leadership position anymore, Johnson maintained his patriotism. "I love our country and everyone in it. I also love being a daddy. And that’s the most important thing to me is being a daddy, number one, especially during this time, this critical time in my daughters’ lives."

The Rock dismissed the idea of running for president in a sneak peek of his Oct. 9 episode on CBS Sunday Morning. The 50-year-old actor continued to express his appreciation for his daughters and how a presidency would cause him to be frequently absent from their lives. However, Johnson didn't rule out other leadership positions. "Sure, CEO sounds great. But the number one thing I wanna be is daddy. That’s it," he added.

Nearly Half of Americans Would Support The Rock's Candidacy

Many poll-takers in April 2021 responded positively to Johnson as president, with 46 percent of Americans supporting his potential candidacy. Other celebrities included in the poll were Oprah Winfrey with 27 percent of the vote, Angelina Jolie with 30 percent and Tom Hanks with 22 percent. "Not sure our Founding Fathers ever envisioned a six-four, bald, tattooed, half-Black, half-Samoan, tequila drinking, pick up truck driving, fanny pack wearing guy joining their club - but if it ever happens it’d be my honor to serve the people," Johnson commented on the poll results.

The NBC sitcom Young Rock, based on Johnson's life, even featured a storyline with the former professional wrestler considering a presidential run in 2032. One episode even ended with a PSA of Johnson in a warehouse with workers and robots. "That's why, as your president, I will make sure none of us get left behind, and that change benefits all, not just some," Johnson said while looking into the camera.

Even if a presidential run isn't in Johnson's future, the 50-year-old actor has plenty of other projects that require his attention. The upcoming film Black Adam is set to be one of the biggest film premieres in Johnson's two-decade-long film career. In addition to Johnson, Black Adam features Noah Centineo, Pierce Brosnan and Sarah Shahi.

Black Adam premieres in theaters on Oct. 21, 2022.
