Dwayne Johnson's 'Baywatch' Adds 'San Andreas' Actress

"San Andreas" co-star Alexandra Daddario will reunite with Dwayne Johnson for Paramount Pictures’ adaptation of “Baywatch.”

Deadline reports the actress, whose credits also include "True Detective" and "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief," beat out a long list of contenders that included Ashley Benson, Nina Dobrev and Alexandra Shipp.

Daddario will play the lifeguard love interest of Zac Efron's character, a rule-breaking hothead who's forced to team with Johnson's by-the-book lifesaver to save their beach from an oil tycoon.

Directed by Seth Gordon, the adaptation of long-running television drama has been described as an action comedy in the vein of "21 Jump Street."
