WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, in theaters now.

After Ryan Reynolds' hilarious cameo in Hobbs & Shaw, it's no secret Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and the Deadpool star have great on-screen chemistry. This led to Rob Liefeld suggesting Johnson appear in a future Deadpool film as Garrison Kane.

Johnson seemed interested in the proposal, replying, "Dearest Rob, thank you amigo. It’s true, in @HobbsAndShaw, I have insanely outstanding chemistry with our familiar friend. Since you created the characters, how does one Garrison Kane get alone with one?"

Created by Rob Liefeld and Fabian Nicieza, Garrison Kane made his first appearance in X-Force #2, which hit shelves in 1991. The character is introduced as a member of Six Pack, a mercenary team started by Cable. Kane possesses cybernetic parts that provide him with superhuman strength. The character has frequent run-ins with Deadpool in the comics.

Following Disney's acquisition of such characters as Deadpool from Fox, there's no word on a third installment in the Merc With a Mouth's planned trilogy at this time or even his future more generally.

Directed by David Leitch (Deadpool 2) from a script by longtime Fast & Furious veteran Chris Morgan, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw stars Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Idris Elba and Vanessa Kirby.
