Dwayne Johnson is eager for Black Adam to fight all heroes and villains, and he's not limiting himself to just the DC Extended Universe. He wants to take on the Marvel Cinematic Universe next.

In an interview with Total Film for the upcoming Black Adam, Johnson expressed his excitement for the future of the titular character. "I am optimistic," he said. "Just my nature is optimistic. And especially when it comes to creative. Especially when it comes to movies. And especially when it comes to the pantheon of DC superheroes and supervillains. Across the street, we have the pantheon of superheroes and supervillains of Marvel. To me, they can not only exist, but they should, in my mind, cross paths one day." Although some fans are pushing for him to fight Henry Cavill's Superman, Johnson is interested in the potential of fighting MCU heroes alongside their villains.

After Johnson fought hard for a solo Black Adam movie, he appears enthusiastic about what his introduction to the DCEU represents to a wide range of fans and the potential for the character to appear in other movies. "The goal is to really expand the universe, and introduce new characters, and spin-off, and be really strategic about the plan," he said. Johnson previously mentioned teaming up with Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman and even Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool.

Is a Marvel and DC Crossover Possible?

Though DC and Marvel are owned by competing studios, the two superhero juggernauts have already crossed over in comic form. Amalgam Comics saw both universes colliding after a miniseries in which heroes from both sides fought with winners determined by reader ballots. Black Adam was never featured in the miniseries, but his rival Shazam lost his battle against Marvel's Thor.

Aside from the DCEU, Black Adam will also be trading blows with Superman, Shaggy, and LeBron James when he comes to Season 1 of MultiVersus. The game already has a host of DC characters played by their original voice actors, and Black Adam will be able to fight the likes of Batman, Harley Quinn, and Wonder Woman. It's yet to be confirmed whether Johnson will be returning to voice Black Adam in MultiVersus, although he did voice the character in animated form for DC League of Super-Pets.

Fans of the antihero will be able to see Johnson bring him to life for the first time when Black Adam opens in theaters on October 21.
