Following the release of Avengers: Endgame, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson posted a video on his Instagram congratulating Marvel Studios on its box office success. In that video, he talked about how he and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige had been trying to set up a meeting, prompting some speculation the studio might be interested in finding a role for Johnson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, a new report suggests that's just a negotiating tactic.Alleged Marvel insider Roger Wardell, who previously provided accurate information about Endgame and has since become a frequent source of rumors, addressed Johnson's potential involvement on Twitter, saying, "The Rock's 'Marvel role' is just another Vin Diesel situation, trying to build hype to get a meeting with Marvel."RELATED: Those Marvel Phase 4 Slate Rumors Are Probably False

In his tweet, Wardell references Vin Diesel's origin story with Marvel. The man behind Groot got the role unconventionally, with the Fast and the Furious star posting on Facebook as part of an internet prank that Marvel had "requested a meeting" with him. Though false at the time, fiction became a reality when Feige actually did end up contacting Diesel to become a part of the MCU.
