Black Adam star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson just made a shocking entrance to the DC Extended Universe blockbuster's Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con 2022.

Footage of the actor's arrival has already surfaced on Twitter. It starts with a darkened, smoke-filled stage briefly illuminated by flashes of light, timed to coincide with thunder sound effects and dialogue by Pierce Brosnan's Kent Nelson/Doctor Fate. Bombastic music then swells, before Johnson appears in costume as Black Adam standing on a raised platform in front of a screen filled with blasts of lightning. "Hall H, you have been warned: the DC Universe will never be the same again," he says, as he momentarily disappears behind another cloud of smoke while his platform is lowered to the stage itself.

The presentation was part of the Warner Bros. SDCC panel and featured a Q&A session with director Jaume Collet-Serra and Johnson's co-stars Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo and Quintessa Swindell. It also debuted a new Black Adam trailer filled with previously unseen footage, including more of the hotly-anticipated showdown between the titular anti-hero and the Justice Society of America. A cut-down version of the Hall H trailer is now available online which is missing several key shots, such as a brief appearance by Viola Davis' Amanda Waller.

Plenty Of DCEU Surprises And No Shows At SDCC 2022

Black Adam wasn't the only DCEU heavyweight spotlighted at the Warner Bros. SDCC panel, either. There was also a presentation promoting Shazam! Fury of the Gods, complete with the movie's first trailer. The trailer offers fans their best look yet at the Shazam Family in action once again, including a showdown between Shazam (Zachary Levi) himself and a dragon. New villains Hespera (Helen Mirren) and Kalypso (Lucy Liu) feature prominently, as well.

Somewhat surprisingly, the Shazam! Fury of the Gods trailer also includes a brief shot of Ben Affleck's Batman, who isn't officially set to star in any future DCEU movies apart from 2023's The Flash. Neither Warner Bros. nor DC Films have publicly announced Affleck as part of the Shazam sequel's cast, so his inclusion in the trailer should be taken with a grain of salt, for now.

Affleck's appearance was almost as big of a deal as the absence of his Justice League co-star Henry Cavill, who didn't feature in any capacity at Warner Bros.'s SDCC panel. Persistent rumors in the lead-up to the event indicated that he would be on hand to personally promote new DCEU Superman projects, however, only Shazam! Fury of the Gods and Black Adam were ultimately part of the panel's schedule.

Black Adam thunders into theaters on Oct 21, 2022.
