According to a report from The Wrap, early plans for Suicide Squad 2 will see the team of misfits being tasked with tracking down a weapon of mass destruction. Said weapon is actually Johnson's anti-hero, Black Adam -- perhaps best known as being the arch nemesis of Shazam, who's own movie is developing quickly with the casting of Shazam himself and Billy Batson.

This report has not been confirmed by Warner Bros. as of yet, though Johnson did tease "a really cool surprise for Black Adam that [he] can't reveal, in terms of where we will see Black Adam being introduced" in an interview earlier this year. There is no date set for the Black Adam solo movie just yet.

Few details about the film are available, but it’s expected to see the return of Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot, Jared Leto as The Joker and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller.

Written and directed by David Ayer, 2016’s Suicide Squad received mixed reviews but earned $745.6 million worldwide and widespread acclaim for Robbie’s performance as Harley Quinn.
