Dungeons and Dragons fans will have a chance to see a preview of the next campaign this June, although it will take a bold new form. The Reality RP event will see a mix of reality TV settings, social media campaigns and elements from the Mafia and Werewolf games as players attempt to find a cultist in their midst.

"We are working on Reality RP as a facet of D&D Live 2020. We've done these events annually for the past few years to get the Dungeons & Dragons community excited about playing with each other, as well as for the new storyline that we will introduce at this time that will be released in September," Wizards of the Coast Senior Communications Manager Greg Tito said in an interview with ScreenRant.

"And with the quarantine revolving around COVID-19, we were busy trying to work out how we could adapt the excitement and creativity around that kind of physical event into an online event and many of us were inspired by what we had done before," Tito continued. "I had gotten together a group of narrative designers, five of them, to kind of brainstorm some initial design work for the live event before we had to switch it and we realized that a lot of that work could be put towards something that's perhaps greater than the sum of its parts."

The event will feature a cast of D&D personalities, including Satine Phoenix, Krystina Arielle, Maude Garrett and Rock M. Sakura from RuPaul's Drag Race. Mass Effect's Mark Meer will host the event.

D&D Live will take place from June 18 to June 20.
