The following contains minor spoilers for Stranger Things Season 4, now streaming on Netflix.

Dungeons & Dragons gives Stranger Things' Eddie Munson a shout-out for his metal moment in Season 4, Volume 2.

Netflix released the last two episodes of the series' fourth season on July 1. That same day, the official Dungeons & Dragons Twitter account posted a still from the finale, "Chapter Nine: The Piggyback," showing Eddie (Joseph Quinn) jamming out on his electric guitar in the Upside Down. Without giving too much away from the tear-jerking finale, viewers are treated to Eddie giving a thrilling performance of Metallica's "Master of Puppets" in the episode, which had been teased by promos for Season 4 and caused D&D to share a "Bard appreciation post."

Dungeons & Dragons holds a special significance to Stranger Things ever since the series' premiere. The show's main characters play the game, which is how they name the threats that their hometown faces, like the Demogorgon, Mind Flayer and Vecna. Season 4 introduces the Hellfire Club led by Munson, a group of students from Hawkins High School who meet up to play D&D together, including Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard), Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin) and Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo).

What remains to be seen is whether Eddie's guitar playing will launch "Master of Puppets" to new heights as Season 4's first volume did for singer-songwriter Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)." The song is used as an important plot device for Max Mayfield (Sadie Sink) to protect her from the series' newest antagonist, Vecna, after her friends discover that playing someone's favorite song can protect them from the villain invading their mind. Streams have risen tremendously for the 1985 track since Stranger Things Season 4, Volume 1 released, and it has spread like wildfire across social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok.

Season 4 is Stranger Things' penultimate season, being that the series will end with Season 5. While there is no word on when the final season begins filming or may release as of writing, Quinn wants to be involved. "I'll be furious if they don't bring me back," the actor said previously. "I'd love to, if they'll have me."

Eddie has become a fan-favorite for viewers following the debut of Season 4, which is now streaming in its entirety on Netflix and has crushed previous Nielsen streaming records with 7.2 billion minutes viewed during its first week available. The show's prior three seasons are available to binge on Netflix as well.
