Dumbo Is All Smiles in New Poster for Live-Action Film

Dumbo

To get people excited for its upcoming release, Disney has unveiled a new poster for the live-action film Dumbo, with the elephant sporting ocean-blue eyes, a ridiculously cute smile and his iconically large ears that help him fly (we hope that's not a spoiler for you).

Be seated while scrolling down, because the cuteness will literally knock you off your feet.

Previously, Disney released several characters posters for the film, including one of the titular elephant. Both this poster and the previous one show off his childlike expression and deep blue eyes, but this new image gives us his great smile, as well, making him seem less like a pachyderm and more like a puppy.

Directed by Tim Burton, the film stars Danny DeVito as circus owner Max Medici and Michael Keaton as tycoon V.A. Vandevere. Vandevere discovers the flying elephant at Medici's circus and recruits Dumbo to be a part of a new show called Dreamland, which has something sinister going on behind the scenes.

Although Burton is known for such dark, brooding monochromatic films like 1990's Edward Scissorhands, the 1993 movie The Nightmare Before Christmas and the iconic 1989 Batman, Dumbo appears to be going the opposite direction with its bright, vivid colors. Given the palette choices and the lavish, colorful costumes, Burton seems to be making a visual attempt at a film accessible for all ages. After all, as violent as the 1999 film Sleepy Hollow may have been, let's not forget that Burton was responsible for bringing the 1985 classic Pee-wee's Big Adventure to the big screen, big shoes and all.

Dumbo also serves as a reunion for Tim Burton, Danny DeVito and Michael Keaton, with their last film being 1992's Batman Returns.

Dumbo, directed by Tim Burton, stars Danny DeVito, Eva Green, Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton and Alan Arkin. The film flies into theaters March 29.
