'Dukes of Hazzard' Reruns Pulled By TV Land

Amid the continuing national debate about the Confederate flag, TV Land has pulled twice-daily reruns of "The Dukes of Hazzard" from its schedule.

Although the cable channel hasn't issued a statement explaining the decision, a spokesperson confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that the episodes have been been removed. TVLine notes that reruns also appear to be missing from CMT's schedule.

In the comedy-drama, which originally aired from 1979 to 1985 on CBS, cousins Bo and Luke Duke famously raced around in the General Lee, a customized 1969 Dodge Charger emblazoned with the Confederate battle flag (and named in honor of Robert E. Lee).

Warner Bros. Consumer Products announced last week that it will stop licensing die-cast toys and models of the General Lee that feature the stars and bars.

Walmart, Sears, Amazon, eBay and Etsy have banned the sale of Confederate flag merchandise.
