A new generation of fans -- along with plenty of the show's original viewers -- warmly welcomed the new DuckTales animated series when it debuted last year on Disney XD. In anticipation of an episode of the series airing each day in May, a new promo has revealed that a character from another early '90s Disney Afternoon cartoon is set to make an appearance on the show: Don Karnage, the primary antagonist from TaleSpin.

The swashbuckling air pirate Don Karnage is seem approximately 50 seconds in the below video, along with what could be Baloo's TaleSpin cargo plane, the Sea Duck.

TaleSpin aired from 1990 to 1991 in first-run syndication, with 65 episodes in total. The show featured characters from the 1967 Disney animated feature The Jungle Book along with new creations (like Don Karnage), with Baloo working as a cargo pilot against a Casablanca-esque backdrop in what appeared to be the 1930s.

No details are available on the nature of the role Don Karnage may play in DuckTales, or if it's a sign more TaleSpin characters may get involved. While the news of a TaleSpin appearance is new, it was revealed last July at Comic-Con International in San Diego that yet another Disney Afternoon character, Darkwing Duck, would guest star in the new DuckTales -- this after Darkwing Duck creator Tad Stones surprised fans by stating that the original Darkwing Duck and DuckTales took place in different universes, despite sharing multiple characters in common.

A Goof Troop or Bonkers cameo in the new DuckTales remains, at this time, just a beautiful dream.
