Animation veterans Don Bluth and Gary Goldman have made it there quest to produce "Dragon's Lair: The Movie," but they require some help.

The longtime collaborators ("The Secret of NIMH," "An American Tail," "The Land Before Time") have partnered once more to launch a Kickstarter campaign to get an animated adaptation of "Dragon's Lair" off the ground

Produced by the Bluth Group, the beautifully animated 1983 video game followed the knight Dirk the Daring on his quest to rescue Princess Daphne from the dragon Singe. It inspired several sequels, as well as a Saturday-morning cartoon produced by Ruby-Spears.

Bluth and Goldman are seeking $550,000 to fund a 10-minute video that they can then use to pitch studios and financiers on the $70 million feature film.
