As The Dragon Prince is still an ongoing series, there are many fan theories floating around the internet debating certain aspects of the show, since, as of the end of season three, there are still several plot elements left open, some of which being around since the first few episodes. That being said, not all theories are created equal and some definitely hold more weight than others.

With four more seasons being confirmed by Netflix, it is likely that The Dragon Prince isn't going to be finished any time soon and the audience may have to wait a very long time before they are given a definitive answer to whichever burning questions they have surrounding the show.

10 PLAUSIBLE: Callum Will Learn More Than Once Kind Of Magic

Ever since Callum connected to the Sky Arcanum in the final episode of season two, fans have been speculating on whether or not he will stop at just one magical art, or if he will follow in the footsteps of Aaravos and learn all six forms. Considering the show's creator also worked extensively on The Last Airbender, it's entirely plausible that Callum may become something of an Avatar for his universe alongside one of the major villains, and seems to already be on his way, as he has already shown some basic understanding of Moon magic several times.

9 TOO WEIRD: Aaravos Is Callum's Father

Since the reason how and why Callum is able to connect to a magical source in the first place hasn't been explored yet, some fans are speculating that Aaravos, the incredibly powerful Startouch Elf who, as far as history is concerned, is the only living person to have ever mastered all forms of magic, may also be Callum's father. Considering that human-elf hybrids haven't been explored in the slightest and Callum shows no telltale characteristics of an elf, such as their fewer fingers and pointed ears, this seems very unlikely.

8 PLAUSIBLE: Claudia Will Join Aaravos' Cause

Claudia, as well as the rest of her family, are some of the most interesting characters in The Dragon Prince so far. Alongside Viren, who still hasn't proven whether or not he is actually a true villain, and Soren, who was willing to kill his father if it meant the end of the war between humans and elves, Claudia may end up on Aaravos' side to keep her family from falling apart.

As Soren and Claudia were left with their father at a young age following their parent's split, Claudia revealed to Ezran that she would do anything to keep her family together, and considering Soren has already defected from her side, she may stay with Viren and Aaravos just to prevent her from losing any more family members and perform something of a reverse-Zuko.

7 TOO WEIRD: The Dragons Are Actually The Villains Of The Story

One of the more outlandish theories, which also has the potential to be an amazing plot twist if it is true, is that the elves and dragons are as evil and vindictive as Viren has made them out to be and that the few good characters of those races seen so far are the minority. Considering Runaan and his band of assassins seemed more than willing to kill King Harrow and Ezran despite Zim's egg being revealed to still exist, there is a nugget of plausibility in this theory. However, following the release of Through The Moon, the comic tie in that bridges seasons three and four, this theory seems increasingly unlikely.

6 PLAUSIBLE: King Harrow Is Alive Inside His Pet Bird

One of the longest-running theories that the audience still doesn't have an answer for is the exact circumstances surrounding King Harrow's death. As his death is seen off-screen, as well as Viren suggesting to swap his soul into another body to keep him alive, some fans have speculated that he is actually still alive inside his pet bird, Pip, who was last seen flying away following Viren's arrest in season two. As Ezran has the unique ability to speak to animals, this may be how Harrow returns in the future to help Ezran be the kind of leader he needs to be to defeat Viren and Aaravos.

5 TOO WEIRD: Soren Will Return To His Father's Side

Claudia and Soren in Dragon Prince

Like Claudia, Soren was originally torn between his friendship with Callum and Ezran and his duty to his father and Katolis. After deciding not to assassinate the princes as his father ordered hum, Soren chose to side with the dragons and elves in season three's climactic battle and hasn't looked back since. Some fans, however, feel that, due to both his and Claudia's desire to keep their family together, he may return to his father's side in the future. However, this would be a slap in the face for what was already a great plotline and seems unlikely considering he was willing to kill Viren to end the war.

4 PLAUSIBLE: Queen Sarai Is The Source Of Callum & Ezran's Powers

Family portrait of Callum, Ezran, Harrow and Sarai

As of season three, fans have still not yet seen Callum's birth father, as it is stated that he died while Callum was young and his mother, Sarai, married Harrow and gave birth to Ezran not long after. Considering both of her sons possess a unique affinity for magic in one way or another, some fans feel that she is the source of both of their powers and the reason why Callum is able to use magic.

Aside from being one of only two common denominators between Callum and Ezran, Sarai also appeared to Callum in his Dark Magic induced dream state right before he gained access to the Sky Arcanum and was entirely responsible for his epiphany. Considering all fans know about her so far is that she was a soldier in Harrow's guard, there may be a lot more to Sarai than meets the eye.

3 TOO WEIRD: The Dragon Prince Isn't Actually Zim

One of the stranger fan theories floating around The Dragon Prince is that Azymondias, also known as Zim and the son of Avizandium/Thunder and Zubeia, is not, in fact, the titular Dragon Prince of the series. Not only is Zim a prince, but both Callum and Ezran are also royalty and are both connected to the dragons in some way, with Callum somehow having access to magical powers he shouldn't have while Ezran is able to communicate with animals. Since the main plot of season one through three revolves around returning Zim to his mother, it seems like this kind of fake-out is unlikely.

2 PLAUSIBLE: The Key of Aaravos Gives Non-Magical Creatures The Ability To Use Magic

Aside from Queen Sarai, the only other thing that could possibly be the cause of Callum and Ezran's unique powers is the Key of Aaravos. Kept in the Banther Lodge and used as nothing but a toy, this mysterious device has, according to Harrow's letter to Callum, the power to unlock something powerful in Xadia. This "something" might just be a person's magical potential and has a different effect depending on who it is used around. Although so far it has only proven to glow around sources of magic and magical creatures, such as Bait and Reyla, its true purpose hasn't been explained yet and may link back to Callum and Ezran's powers.

1 TOO CRAZY: Reyla Is Going To Be A Villain

It wouldn't be the first time that a hero has turned to villainy, but considering that Reyla has already gone through something of a change of sides at the very beginning of the series, it's unlikely she would change again to Viren and Aaravos' side. At the end of Through the Moon, Reyla runs off by herself to search for Viren after promising Callum they would search together, wanting to finally have closure on both her parent's death and the events of the war she had just been through in season three. One plausible way she may change sides is against her will, as, without Callum around to give her back up, she may end up under the control of Viren and Aaravos after finding them, but this seems unlikely.
