Although most mages in The Dragon Prince are fairly well versed in their art, as many of them have been practicing for many years, Callum is far less skilled than any other mage, though has a raw talent for it that few others possess. While he hasn't been in many battles in his life, the ones he has been a part of haven't gone particularly well for him and usually require the help of others.

This is particularly evident in the final battle of season three, where he is barely able to fire off a Fulminis spell in time to defend himself against a soldier turned by the Hearts of Cinder spell, though he made up for this by saving Rayla from a fatal fall moments later. Callum may not have what it takes to defeat most characters in battle, but that doesn't mean he's entirely useless.

10 Could Defeat: Meelo

As the second youngest child of Tenzin, Meelo isn't a pushover when it comes to his bending capabilities and has proven himself to be a decent fighter in his own right, despite his unorthodox approach to battle.

That being said, he is still fairly inexperienced even when compared to his older sisters and is probably the weakest bender in Legend of Korra simply due to his age. While Callum has far less experience, his skills are enough that he could handle the young airbender in a fight.

9 Would Lose To: Korra

There's no getting around the fact that, despite the many similarities The Dragon Prince has with the Avatar series, few characters are a match for full-fledged benders, especially Korra, when it comes down to it, largely due to the fundamental difference between how bending and magic is executed.

As shown in the final battle of season three, to use magic in battle effectively, it either needs to be cast with lightning speed, as seen with Viren's many fights or used to catch the opponent off guard, neither of which skills Callum has shown so far.

8 Could Defeat: Jet

Jet in fight pose

Jet may be a skilled swordsman, but he does have a distinct lack of range that is normally made up for in some way with other swordsmen in Avatar. Sokka has his boomerang, Zuko has his firebending, though Jet has neither of those things and largely relied on in the past Longshot for that aspect of battle. Against a mage with purely ranged abilities, he would likely struggle in a fight with Callum.

This doesn't mean that Jet has no chance of winning, as he was shown to be nimble enough to chase down Aang when the terrain was optimal, but in an open space where Callum can fire off Fulminis and Aspiro as much as he wants, as well as giving him the breathing room to fly, Jet would have a hard time catching Callum.

7 Would Lose To: Sokka

Sokka Warrior

Callum and Sokka may both be voiced by Jack de Sena, but only one of these two would win in a one-on-one battle, and it isn't Callum. While Sokka is often played off as the goofball of the group and not to be taken seriously, his abilities in combat, even before obtaining his space sword, were good enough to take down Combustion Man with a blind throw of his boomerang from a very long distance.

Callum does have the advantage that his lightning doesn't need to come back for him to fire it off again, but Sokka's boomerang and machete are more than enough to defeat the prince if it came down to it.

6 Could Defeat: Mai

Mai frowning Avatar

Mai is a master of thrown weapons and can very easily hit her mark with her throwing knives just as well as Sokka can hit his with a boomerang, but she has a distinct lack of skills outside of this to help her deal with excessive amounts of wind and lightning.

Considering Callum's Aspiro spell was strong enough to hold back an avalanche, it stands to reason that he could simply blow any projectiles out of the air and leave Mai relatively defenseless against Fulminis.

5 Would Lose To: Ty Lee

On the flip side, Ty Lee has no ranged capabilities but is a master of melee combat. Unlike Jet, who struggles when it comes to maneuvering around the battlefield if he isn't able to gain the high ground, Ty Lee has been shown to be able to jump absurdly high.

Ty Lee can also effortlessly jump around and even, at one point, run along the wires of a gondola, something that even Azula couldn't do. If it came to a fight between Callum and Ty Lee, Callum would likely lose before he even realized the fight had begun.

4 Could Defeat: Asami Sato

Asami Sato smiling in The Legend of Korra.

Asami may be resourceful and a capable fighter in a pinch, but she definitely embodies the inventor side of Sokka while lacking in the combat abilities that made him such a good warrior by the end of The Last Airbender. At best, Asami's gloves are able to stun Callum and remove him from the battle, but this is about all she has up her sleeve without the use of mech suits.

If Asami did have use of even a basic mech suit, the fight would likely be in her favor rather than Callum's, as she has proven to be one of the best pilots in the series. That being said, Callum's ability to fly would likely also help him even against a Hummingbird mech.

3 Would Lose To: Zuko

Callum's greatest strength, his Fulminis spell, would be entirely useless against Zuko simply due to his ability to redirect lightning. Considering Zuko was able to catch not only Ozai's lightning, which was cast out of nowhere in the seconds after the Day of Black Sun ended, but was also able to take the brunt of Azula's lightning attack intended for Katara, despite having to purposefully run after it to ensure it didn't hit her.

This also isn't taking into consideration that, while his firebending may suffer around Aspiro's gusts, his sword-fighting capabilities would more than make up for this.

2 Could Defeat: Varrick

Like Asami, Varrick is more of an inventor than a fighter, though he has proven to be effective on the battlefield from time to time.

While he was able to incapacitate several mech suits in the middle of a battle using an EMP, this is the closest Varrick has come to being in the thick of battle until Team Avatar tried to force their way into Kuvira's giant mech suit, where he and Zhu Li were forced to flee after their Hummingbird was damaged.

1 Would Lose To: Aang

Avatar Aang in Korra

If Callum has no chance against Korra, there's no way he has a sliver of a chance against Aang. Korra may be the better bender in her base form, mostly due to her age and her embracing the combat side of bending more so than Aang.

Aang's avatar state is significantly more powerful than Korra's, both because of his spiritual connections as well as the fact that he has access to all previous incarnations, where Korra does not.
