Of all the father-son stories in anime and manga, one of the most emotionally resonant is that of Goku and Gohan throughout Dragon Ball Z.

The latest trailer for the upcoming video game Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot focuses on the relationship between the duo, showing gameplay footage of Goku raising his son from his earliest appearances in the anime series to training with him in preparation for their battle against the villainous Cell.

As Gohan grows from a young boy to a teenage Super Saiyan 2 in his own right, he surpasses his father just in time to battle Cell in one of the franchise's most iconic, emotional showdowns, with the trailer showcasing the frenzied combat between the two after Goku's heroic sacrifice to save the planet.

Featuring third-person, hard-hitting action, Kakarot recreates the anime series' greatest moments while adding new backstory and character moments to further enrich Akira Toriyama's beloved manga and anime franchise.
