Dragon Ball Z is one of the biggest pop culture phenomenons of all time. From introducing the West to the concept of anime as a whole to introducing a power fantasy unlike anything ever seen before, it's clear as day that Dragon Ball Z still holds a special place in people's hearts to this day. The mere fact that Dragon Ball Super was a roaring success even after releasing almost two decades after its predecessor ended its run is proof enough of just how popular and influential Dragon Ball Z actually is.

Fans have not been shy about being vocal when it comes to appreciating this series, with some going so far as to make their own parodies, animations, theories, and whatnot. One particular parody that has gone above and beyond in terms of ensuring the highest level of quality possible has to be Dragon Ball Z Abridged. Team Four Star hasn't pulled any punches in making what might just be the funniest fan parody of all time.

With the recent heartbreaking news that Team Four Star is discontinuing DBZ Abridged, it's time we take a fond look back at the series and list out some of the most memorable quotes from this excellent parody.

10 "YES GOKU! I'M A F***ING GREEN DINOSAUR!"

Anime Dragon Ball World Martial Arts Tournament Piccolo Goku Fight

DBZ Abridged has its fair share of incredible caricatures, and Piccolo is no exception. The Demon King is rather vulnerable in this parody, feeling alone for the most part. Unfortunately, the only people close to him are... well, stupid.

Goku is the worst example of this, constantly confused as to whether Piccolo is a Yoshi or not. Piccolo sarcastically replies that he is, to which Goku hilariously replies, "Can I ride you?"

9 "Why... Didn't... You... DODGE!"

DBZ Abridged has its fair share of running jokes, but nothing comes close to the sheer brilliance of "DODGE!" Piccolo, during the period where he trains Gohan, constantly tries to teach him to dodge, but to no avail.

This culminates in a hilarious moment when Piccolo decides to stand in front of Gohan as Nappa shoots a fatal attack. His last words were — hilariously enough — highlighting Gohan's negligence when it comes to dodging.

8 "I Saw A Bird. It Was Pretty. Kick Its Ass."

Speaking of excellent characters in the DBZ Abridged series, one simply can't fail to mention the legend that is Super Kami Guru. A throwaway Namekian in Dragon Ball Z, the Abridged series decides to add a hilarious twist to this inconsequential character.

The mere fact that he keeps on annoying Nail to no end is rib-ticking enough as is, but this line just takes the cake. Talk about subverting expectations in the most deadpan manner possible.

7 "I Do Not Know What This Yamcha Is... But It Sounds Disappointing."

The Elder Namekian Guru unlocks Krillin's potential in Dragon Ball Z

Of course, it's not just this one time when Super Kami Guru showcases his comedic brilliance. During the scene when he unlocks Gohan's and Krillin's latent power, the latter is described to have very little potential.

Krillin grimaces and talks about how he's becoming just like Yamcha, to which Super Kami Guru replies with this absolutely hilarious line.

6 "I'm Coming Zarbon! Quick, Grab My Balls!"

The Dragon Balls are powerful wish-granting tools in the original series. However, in DBZ Abridged, they also happen to be the subject of several dirty jokes that are delivered with nigh-perfect timing.

The best instance can be seen when Frieza is on a call with Zarbon, who is getting absolutely pummeled by Vegeta. Frieza calls the Ginyu Force and remarks that he's coming to save Zarbon, while simultaneously asking his subordinate to retrieve the Dragon Balls in the most inappropriate way possible.

5 "I'm Goku! I'm Insane! From Earth!"

GOKU-FRIEZA-LONGEST-ANIME-FIGHT

If Goku was somewhat of a dunce who admittedly had excellent fighting capabilities in the original series, then DBZ Abridged re-wrote his character to be an absolute airhead in their parody. Goku showcases his lack of intelligence multiple times throughout the series, with perhaps his most iconic remark coming when he introduces himself to Frieza.

His mispronunciation of the term "I'm A Saiyan" is so egregious that a dying Vegeta can't help but spend his final moments trying to clarify what Goku actually meant to say.

4 "When You Fall Off The Horse, You Get Back Up... And You Eat. That. Horse. Come Eat That Horse With Me Vegeta!"

The Cell Saga serves as a wake-up call for Vegeta, who realizes that he's not as powerful as he'd sold himself to be. In order to motivate his friend to get back to his training, Goku decides to motivate him with one of the funniest monologues in the series.

The fact that TFS decided to bring this line back during the moment when Gohan was struggling in the beam clash against Cell is proof enough of just how iconic this line has become.

3 "I AM THE HYPE!"

Speaking of Vegeta, it must be said that he — like pretty much everyone else — is portrayed excellently in DBZ Abridged. His haughty nature is cranked up to a 100 in this series, to the point where even his own son questions as to whether his father genuinely believes his own hype.

Vegeta responds to Trunks' comment in the most Vegeta manner possible — by stating that he himself is the hype!

2 "He Keeps Kicking Me In The D**k... Why... Why Does He Keep Kicking Me In The D**k?

However, for someone who's as prideful as Vegeta, it must be said that he's faced the brunt of several humiliations throughout the course of the series. The most egregious of the lot comes from the fact that most assailants seem to always hit him where it hurts... and where it hurts is a very delicate area.

This comes to a head in The Return Of Cooler, where Vegeta is constantly kicked in his private parts time and time again. A total of 1,000 Coolers did the same to him before capturing the wounded Saiyan and Goku, which is just the absolute worst.

1 "Hey Vegeta, Are We There Yet?"

Nappa from Dragon Ball.

One can't talk about the excellent characters of DBZ Abridged without mentioning one of the most memorable characters in the entire series — Nappa. The popularity of this character was so immense that he still hung around as a ghost to torture Vegeta.

The earliest indication that this character would be absolute gold came from the fact that he constantly nagged Vegeta about when they were going to reach Earth for what seemed like eternity by saying the same thing over and over and over again.

Honestly, we have to commend Vegeta's patience for tolerating Nappa's annoying antics for so long.
