Lucifer Morningstar is one of those DC Universe characters who hasn't been able to show their true powers on the big stage. With the Netflix series Lucifer taking the popularity of this comic book character to another level, it's only fair to look at what kind of powers the ruler of Hell has up his sleeve.

The show hasn't even scratched the surface what Lucifer can really do because he can certainly stand up for himself against any DC superhero or supervillain. But what about Dragon Ball characters? They have ties to the mystic, too. Who would Lucifer defeat... and more importantly, who would beat him?

10 Would Defeat: Piccolo

There's no way someone like Piccolo even stands a chance against the cosmic powers of Lucifer Morningstar. At best, Piccolo will be able to dole out slight damage to Lucifer but after a while, his energy will drain faster than Lucifer's celestial strength and stamina. The only way Piccolo would be able to defeat Lucifer is by using Special Beam Cannon. But for that, he will need to concentrate; Lucifer isn't likely to provide him with that kind of time.

9 Lose To: Goku Black

Goku Black smirks as he Raises Carnage in Dragon Ball Super

A godly creature in the Dragon Ball Universe, Goku Black, aka Zamasu, comes from a different universe and he also possesses the God Ki. But what makes him so fearsome is the fact that he enjoys making his enemies suffer. He wants to see the light inside the mortals drain in front of his eyes. If he comes up against Lucifer, Goku Black will definitely respect him for being a celestial but there is no way he would accept second best.

8 Would Defeat: Gohan

Gohan fights Raditz

The small Gohan who was able to fight against the best of Saiyans and Cell wouldn't be able to beat Lucifer, never mind the much weaker Gohan shown in Dragon Ball Super. At his very best, Gohan will be able to put up a fight against Lucifer but he still lacks in a lot of criteria.

On the battlefield, Lucifer is one of the best manipulators in the world and Gohan is someone who is very emotional. Also, Gohan has never been able to reach his best and it's doubtful that he would even come close in a battle like ths.

7 Lose To: Beerus

The God of Destruction, Beerus is as strong as they come. What makes Beerus better than Lucifer is the fact that he is the God of Destruction, which means he can pretty much smack Lucifer about for as long as he wants. On top of that, Beerus pretty much matches Lucifer in terms of not caring about human lives. He couldn't care less about Lucifer himself, even though he is an angel.

6 Would Defeat: Buu

Majin Buu absorbs Gohan in Dragon Ball Z.

There are literally so many forms that Buu has taken in the Dragon Ball Universe and one can say that Lucifer will trounce every single one. The only chance Buu stands is if he turns into his "Super" form, the one that he acquired after absorbing Gohan in the battle against Vegito. Despite that, Lucifer might just be able to come out top because Buu is also an emotional being who can easily be manipulated. Furthermore, because Buu has a pretty liquid body, Lucifer can easily change the surroundings to have a better chance of beating him.

5 Lose To: Vegeta Super Saiyan Blue

While Vegeta is just a mere mortal, he has been able to reach the levels of the Godly Ki and with Super Saiyan Blue, he actually surpassed it. The thing that makes Vegeta a potential winner against Lucifer is the fact that he never accepts second best and unlike Goku, he is willing to play it dirty, which would be required against someone like Lucifer, who doesn't always play it fair. Moreover, Lucifer cannot manipulate Vegeta even if he tried.

4 Would Defeat: Frieza

Frieza is, honestly, one of the best villains in the Dragon Ball Z saga. He is merciless, powerful, and doesn't care about anyone but himself, not even his partners. Yet, he might not be strong enough to face someone like Lucifer. Firstly, the Devil has the upper hand because he can easily play with Frieza's emotions, although the latter can be quite manipulative sometimes. Also, with Lucifer being able to play with his surroundings, he can easily frustrate Frieza because of his lack of strength.

3 Lose To: Jiren

Jiren Dragon Ball Super

Potentially the strongest mortal in the whole wide Dragon Ball Universe, Jiren will have a field day facing Lucifer. He is not the talkative type, so the manipulation tricks will definitely not work on him.

Even if Lucifer tries to change the surroundings on the battlefield, it would do very little because Jiren is just way too strong and adaptive. He has been able to overpower gods before, so Lucifer will not be the first celestial being he has faced.

2 Would Defeat: Cell

Perfect Cell curiously eats a Senzu Bean in Dragon Ball Z.

Cell was the most merciless villain the Dragon Ball warriors ever came across, so the potential battle between him and Lucifer would be beyond thrilling. The only chance Cell stands against Lucifer is if he can be able to absorb him and make him a part of himself, although that kind of a thing might be very dangerous when used against a celestial. His Cell babies could also work but Lucifer has unlimited amounts of stamina.

1 Lose To: Ultra Instinct Goku

Goku triggers Ultra Instinct in Dragon Ball Super

Someone like Jiren — who is stronger than some gods — couldn't handle Ultra Instinct Goku because he's just too strong, too fast, and too agile. It's as if Goku becomes someone different when he takes up that form. Lucifer would find it very hard to defeat someone like him. The only thing he can hope for is that Goku drains all his energy by using the Ultra Instinct Form and then his body gives in. But if that doesn't happen, Lucifer doesn't stand a chance.
