Does it really make sense that Goku takes center stage with every single movie? When will Vegeta get his chance to shine? It's time to make the argument for a film that focuses entirely on Vegeta. Fans around the world would love to see this take place, and there are plenty of reasons why such a film would be successful.

Maybe we'll see a film like some time in the future. It's true that Vegeta has been playing a major role in the series and films of the past, most notably 2018's Dragon Ball Super: Broly. Could this actually happen? It's tough to say, seeing as the "tried and true" method for Dragon Ball movies seems to center around Goku for the most part. Putting that aside, here's why a Vegeta movie would work:

The most obvious reason why Vegeta should have his own movie is his popularity. Vegeta is without a doubt one of the most celebrated characters in the entire series, and most people really grew to admire him during the events of Dragon Ball Z.

Some people even believe that Vegeta is the most popular character in the entire series. Because of this, a movie that centers around the Prince of all Saiyans would draw the interest of tons of fans. It might even renew interest in people who have stopped watching the show.

9 People Loved Him When He Was A Villain

People love anti-heroes. Great examples of anti-heroes are Catwoman, Deadpool, Batman, and many others. Just like these characters, Vegeta isn't your typical hero. He's far from perfect. In fact, he was once a terrifying villain.

And people loved Vegeta for his villainous ways. A story that focuses on Vegeta would be awesome, whether we see the dark side of this character or his potential for good. Either way, it would be more interesting than many past Dragon Ball Z movies.

One possible idea for a Vegeta movie could be an exploration of his past. Over the years, we've seen quite a few flashbacks into Vegeta's past, but there are still quite a few missing links. A story about Vegeta's past and his life as a planet-conquering mercenary would be seriously cool.

Whether we see Vegeta's evil side or his potential for benevolence, a look into Vegeta's past would be amazing. This would also give us a chance to see Raditz and Nappa once again, which fans would probably love.

7 It's Time For Vegeta To Carve Out His Own Path

Vegeta has been in an awkward stage for much of the series now. It's not really clear what Vegeta's role is, exactly. He's been playing second fiddle to Goku for years, but what is his actual role in the series these days?

Sometimes, it seems like he's just being kept around to satisfy fans, and without any clear goal. A Vegeta movie could help define Vegeta's character and help him carve out his own path and identity within the DBZ universe.

6 The Other Movies Are Getting Too Repetitive

Most fans can probably agree that some of the past Dragon Ball movies have been getting a little repetitive over the years. It always seems like Goku comes in at the last minute and saves the day. Sure, there have been a few exceptions to this rule, but they've been few and far between.

A movie centered on the experiences of Vegeta would give the Dragon Ball movies a breath of fresh air. It's always a good plan to surprise fans with something a little different, and a movie like this would do just that.

5 Vegeta Always Wants To Do Things On His Own

The weird thing about Vegeta is that he's fiercely independent... and yet these days he's always teaming up with the rest of the Z Fighters. This makes him a hugely contradictory character almost by default. For someone who wants to do everything on his own, Vegeta sure seems willing to work as a team whenever possible.

A Vegeta movie would highlight the truth that all fans know about the Prince of all Saiyans: He's someone who always wants to do something on his own. It would be awesome to see Vegeta hop in a spaceship, fly off to some faraway planet, and have an entire adventure all by himself.

4 He's Still The Prince Of All Saiyans

Even though a lot of time has passed since Vegeta was given the title of prince by his people, he's still the last remaining member of the Saiyan royal family. Vegeta's destiny was always tied with leading his people to victory.

That destiny still exists today, and it would be amazing to see Vegeta take that role upon himself once more and unite all of the Saiyans together for one common purpose. Seeing Vegeta mature as a character and become a strong leader could be a game-changer for the series.

3 Vegeta Is The Ultimate Underdog

Fans love an underdog story, and Vegeta is the ultimate underdog. A movie featuring Vegeta could push this narrative even further, showing Vegeta sinking to a new low before rising up and becoming even stronger than ever before.

Now compare that to Goku, who seems to be this perfect, god-like character who always manages to win. Whenever Goku's involved, fans know in the back of their minds that he's going to beat whoever he's fighting. A story involving Vegeta would keep fans guessing.

2 He's A More Relatable Hero

One of the reasons why underdogs are so popular is the fact that they're typically more relatable. The average person understands what it feels like to be up against near-impossible odds. It's something that most of us face each day.

Vegeta has always been a character that people can relate to. He's multi-dimensional, flawed, and he has a major inferiority complex. This is basically the whole reason why he's so popular, and it's also why a Vegeta-centered film would be so popular.

1 The Manga Is Setting Vegeta Up To Be The New Hero

A movie based around Vegeta wouldn't have to stray far from the manga, either. In the most recent issues of the Dragon Ball manga, Vegeta is already starting to carve out his own path and become more independent.

The new villain called Moro is a planet-eating tyrant who actually feeds on Saiyan power. Although Goku and Vegeta were initially working together, Vegeta is now choosing his own path and training in a unique way on a distant planet. He may learn a new technique and save the day, rather than Goku proving to be the victor once again.
