Dragon Ball Super: Is Broly Stronger Than Goku? & 12 Other Things to Know About the Legendary Super Saiyan
Broly is known as the Legendary Super Saiyan of the Dragon Ball franchise, and his appearance in Super changes & adds to his character.

Goku Grows Stronger Every Second

As soon as Goku mastered the Ultra Instinct, Whis suggested that his power isn't setting down, instead it's growing with every punch Goku faces and tries to strike. In short, there is no level described as Goku's peak while using the Ultra Instinct, which means his power grows stronger every second that he faces his opponent. Broly, in his Legendary Super Saiyan form, will only be encouraging Goku on to greater things by fighting him.

By this point in the series, Goku has even reached more complex version of Ultra Instinct, including True Ultra Instinct and Perfected Ultra Instinct form. With these advancements, Goku continues to have an edge over Broly in any battle.

Why Dragon Ball Super Broly is Still the Best Canon Dragon Ball Movie
Broly's 2018 movie may be the best in all of Dragon Ball for everything it does and everything it contributes to the franchise as a whole.

There is a reason why Saiyans like Broly aren't born in a thousand years. His genes are so pure and rare that Saiyans like him have been given a demonic status. The Saiyan transformations that Broly goes through are the purest in their generation and the Legendary Super Saiyan form is the purest. It also the most advanced among the other Super Saiyan transformations, be it the normal Super Saiyan with Golden hair or Super Saiyan Blue. This, pretty much, means that Ultra Instinct Goku can't take things for granted.

Goku Uses Energy Manipulation Of The Highest Order

Ultra Instinct allows Goku a greater degree of comfort while using his tremendous energy and heat. One might also say that his energy manipulation becomes better than Jiren, and Dragon Ball fans know how good Jiren is using his ki.

Even the smallest of energy blasts might end up causing a lot of damage to Broly, let alone Goku's signature move in his Ultra Instinct form. The move Kamehameha is something Goku has used extensively, and he could bring that out against Broly, as well.

Broly Has a Lack of Mercy

After mastering the Ultra Instinct, Goku began having a degree of control over his mental state, which he previously didn't have when it was Ultra Instinct Sign. The same goes for Broly, who loses himself after going Legendary Super Saiyan. He goes into the Berserker state, destroying anything and everything in his wake. One thing is for sure, if Broly does lose control, there is no guessing the kind of damage he can do to Goku.

Every Version Of Ultra Instinct Goku, Explained
As with all Dragon Ball transformations, there are a lot of different forms of Ultra Instinct. Here's how to tell the difference.

Ultra Instinct is the ultimate form of desire for any martial artist. It is nothing but the ability of a fighter to put his emotions aside (including strategies and tactics) and just let his body act based on pure instinct. This is what allows Goku's body to be incredibly agile, along with the unearthly reflexes. While his reflexes might not be good enough to dodge every attack Legendary Super Saiyan Broly has to offer, it will certainly provide him with a huge advantage considering how good Goku is as a hand-to-hand combatant.

Broly Has More Durability Than Goku in His Legendary Super Saiyan Form

This is easily the biggest weakness that Goku encounters while using the Ultra Instinct. It drains his stamina at an exponential level, meaning the longer the fight goes on, the better chance Broly has of winning. His Legendary Super Saiyan form is certainly more sustainable than Goku's Ultra Instinct. Something exactly like this scenario occurred in the Tournament of Power when Goku in his Ultra Instinct form was all but ready to finish the fight against Jiren and suddenly, his body crashed.

Goku's Speed Gives Him an Advantage Against Broly

Speed is one of the most important things to consider in a fight, especially between two Saiyans who pride themselves on it. While both Broly and Goku can travel at the speed of light, their battle speeds differ quite a lot.

With Ultra Instinct, Goku becomes tremendously fast. So much so that Broly, even in his Legendary Super Saiyan form, might not be able to catch Goku's subtle movements. Ultra Instinct enhances a lot of things for Goku and speed is one of them.

Broly Has Limitless Potential

It is said that Broly and Dragon Ball Super's Kale have limitless potential due to their rare Saiyan genes. The Legendary Super Saiyan form doesn't increase Broly's power level to a certain extent, instead, the power level keeps on increasing as the fight goes on. It may be the case that Broly might not match Goku stride for stride, but fans cannot rule out a sudden drastic increase in his energy to catch up to Goku's Ultra Instinct.

Goku's Strength Is a Deciding Factor in the Dragon Ball Franchise

Goku taps into Ultra Instinct power during his fight against Jiren in Dragon Ball Super

Strength is the biggest factor to take into consideration when two Saiyans are going head-to-head. Again, Goku's Ultra Instinct is a level beyond Broly's Legendary Super Saiyan form, and the former's strength rivals that of some of Dragon Ball's Gods of Destruction. It wouldn't be wrong to say that Goku's attacks will hit a lot harder than Broly's and that's a key advantage to have in a fight against a monstrous figure. Even if Broly increases in size, his strength would come nowhere near that of Goku.

Goku Would Be the Winner in a Fight Against Broly

Goku has some clear advantages over Broly and all of them are key when it comes to a one-on-one fight. Ultra Instinct Goku is faster, stronger, and more agile compared to his opponent and on top of that, there is a significant difference in their respective power levels. By the time Broly increases his power level, Goku may find an even greater control over Ultra Instinct than his current Perfected Ultra Instinct form. Ultimately, Ultra Instinct is not something any Dragon Ball warrior would want to meddle with unless the said warrior is a God.
