Vegeta may not enjoy being second to Goku, but he’s remarkably consistent about it. Not only did he develop the second most powerful transformation in Dragon Ball Super’s Tournament of Power, Blue Evolved (the first was Goku’s Ultra Instinct), but he also eliminated more fighters than anyone other than Goku.

Unsurprisingly for a battle royal, Vegeta did sometimes have help from his teammates, but he also took out plenty of fighters himself and even lent a hand to team members from both his universe and Universe 6. Going through each fighter he eliminated, it’s hard not to be impressed with Vegeta’s record… second best or not.

9 Used Hop's Attacks Against Her (& Defeated Her With A Frozen Hand)

Hop in Dragon Ball Super

Vegeta had jumped into the Trio of Danger's infamous attack, the “Dangers’ Triangle,” to help Goku deal with being surrounded. The Supreme Kai of Universe 9, Roh, immediately ordered the other fighters of his universe to join the Trio of Danger as backup.

Among those aiding the Trio was Hop, a cat-like warrior who tried to slash Vegeta with her hyper-sharp claws. Lavender and Hyssop soon joined her, but Vegeta dodged one of Hop’s attacks just in time for her claws to slash Lavender instead. The Saiyan prince then knocked Hop out of the ring, using ice Hyssop created around his hand to strengthen his blows.

8 Easily Broke Free From Hyssop's Icy Attack & Blasted Him Away With A "Ki Punch"

After attacking Vegeta with their claws, Lavender and Hop had moved out the way so Hyssop could cover Vegeta’s arm in ice with his Ice Lance (or Freezing Attack). Yet that hardly slowed Vegeta down, as he used the ice around his arm as a weapon against Hop. He then destroyed the ice entombing his arm by turning into a Super Saiyan, afterward charging at Hyssop and attacking him with several punches and kicks. He finally removed Hyssop from the ring by charging enough ki around his fist to blast Hyssop away.

7 Freed Himself From Oregano's Threads & Knocked Him Out With Hyssop

Oregano and Vegeta in Dragon Ball Super

Oregano and Hyssop seemed to rely on working together, so it made sense the two would be eliminated simultaneously. After Hyssop had frozen Vegeta’s arm, Oregano tried to incapacitate the Saiyan’s other arm by wrapping it in threads shot from Oregano’s palm.

Yet Vegeta easily knocked the threads away at the same time he broke his arm free from Hyssop’s ice. Vegeta then focused his primary offensive on Hyssop, but hadn’t forgotten about Oregano, whom he blasted off the tournament stage at exactly the same time as Hyssop with the same energy attack from his fist.

6 Used The Final Flash On The Trio Of Danger While Goku Used His Kamehameha

While Vegeta’s initial Universe 9 targets had been Bergamo, Lavender, and Basil, they ended up being the last three he eliminated from the Tournament of Power. Once Lavender no longer had Hop, Hyssop, and Oregano backing him up against Vegeta, he rejoined his brothers to focus on both Vegeta and Goku. Following a brief round of fisticuffs, the Trio switched tactics by using their powerful Triangle Danger Beam. Yet Vegeta and Goku were up to the challenge, going from Super Saiyan to Super Saiyan Blue and retaliating with a Final Flash and Kamehameha that pushed back the Trio’s beam and knocked them off the stage.

5 Eliminated Prum By Knocking Another Fighter Into Him With An Energy Blast

Prum in Dragon Ball Super

Prum and his Universe 2 teammate Harmira had paired up, with the latter firing energy into the former’s body so Prum could redirect the attacks at other fighters. For maximum precision, Prum would spit spheres from his mouth that could track and identify other fighters on the tournament stage by their heat signature.

To stop them, Vegeta and Goku raced to fight Prum head-on while Tien went after Harmira. Unable to hurt Prum with energy, the Saiyans began throwing rubble at him. When Dr. Rota got between them and Prum, Vegeta used the opportunity to blast Rota into Prum’s body, pushing them both off the stage.

4 Defeated Dr. Rota At The Same Time As Prum Before Rota Could Use Any Of His Attacks

Dr. Rota in Dragon Ball Super

Dr. Rota’s performance in the Tournament of Power wasn’t exactly exemplary. While gloating to Gohan and Piccolo, he was shot down by one of Harmira’s sniper energy beams. Eventually, he regained consciousness and tracked down Harmira’s partner-in-crime, Prum, who had actually been the one to direct Harmira’s attack in Rota’s direction.

Once Tien eliminated Harmira, Prum tried to run away, unable to defend against Goku and Vegeta’s physical attacks. Yet he was promptly blocked by a revenge-driven Dr Rota. Before Rota could show off his vaunted power and fight Prum himself, however, Vegeta eliminated them both.

3 Pushed Auta Magetta Out With A Light Foot Shove After Hurting His Feelings

Vegeta, Auta Magetta and Frost in Dragon Ball Super

Vegeta had defeated Auta Magetta at Beerus and Champa’s tournament by hurting the Metalman’s feelings with insults. In the Tournament of Power, however, Magetta had devised creative ways to cover his ears so he could not hear the Saiyan prince’s putdowns.

One such method was plugging his ears with molten rock, which came especially handy when Magetta joined Frost in fighting Vegeta, eager for revenge. Magetta was fairly resistant to Vegeta’s attacks, but once the Saiyan blasted off one of the Metalman’s rock earplugs, he stole Magetta’s will to fight with a single insult. Vegeta then shoved a crying Magetta off easily with his foot.

2 Turned Super Saiyan Blue & Eliminated Agnilasa In A Group Ki Barrage

Vegeta and Agnilasa in Dragon Ball Super

Vegeta had primarily left Universe 3’s Koicéareta for Gohan to fight, only pitching in briefly with Goku, but became more involved when Koicéareta transformed into the much stronger Agnilasa.

Despite Universe 7’s team efforts, Agnilasa handled Vegeta and his allies with little difficulty, especially when he extended his punches’ reach by warping space. As Agnilasa charged a final attack, Vegeta became a Super Saiyan Blue, firing a blast resembling the Final Flash while his allies used their own full-power attacks. Thanks to Android 17 destroying Agnilasa’s energy core, Universe 7’s attacks managed to push through… although Vegeta accused 17 of stealing the spotlight afterward.

1 Defeated Top With The Final Explosion Technique But Survived This Time

Vegeta uses Final Explosion in the Tournament of Power in Dragon Ball Super.

After awakening his God of Destruction power, Top separated Vegeta from his and Goku’s battle with Jiren so the Saiyan prince and Top could fight one-on-one. Even in his Blue Evolved state, Vegeta found fighting Top to be a challenge but found new inner strength when he thought of his pride and his loved ones. Vegeta then attacked by purging all the energy from his body, as he’d done fighting Majin Buu years ago. Top reciprocated with a gigantic ball of Destruction energy, which briefly surrounded Vegeta before the Saiyan’s attack broke through. Now unimpeded, Vegeta’s energy struck Top full force, eliminating him from the tournament.
