WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Dragon Ball Super Chapter 61, by Akira Toriyama, Toyotarou, Caleb Cook and Brandon Bovia, available now in English from Viz Media.

After being defeated by Moro, Goku trained with the Angel Merus to master Ultra Instinct, while Vegeta instead went to Planet Yardrat. Although that planet is where Goku learned Instant Transmission after defeating Frieza on Namek in Dragon Ball Z, Vegeta set his sights on learning something other than his rival's signature move, though just what wasn't clear. Dragon Ball Super Chapter 61 finally reveals what Vegeta learned from Elder Pybara and the Yardratians, and it's one of the franchise's best new moves.

Dragon Ball Super Chapter 61 opens with Vegeta preparing to face off against Moro. Initially, the Z-Fighters recognize that Vegeta received a major power-up, but it's unclear if it's going to be enough to actually take down Moro, who is able to drain energy from his opponents and then use it against them. At first, Moro seems dominant and bats Vegeta away with ease, but the battle starts to turn against the villain. Vegeta starts landing blow after blow on Moro, shocking onlookers.

Vegeta then reveals he learned a move called Forced Spirit Fission, which causes Moro to lose the energy he drained during his time ravaging the universe every time the Saiyan Prince hits him. Eventually, Vegeta beats Moro so badly that the villain ends up reverting to the de-powered form he had before wishing on the Namekian Dragon Balls. The energy Moro loses then goes back to the places from which he drained it. However, Elder Pybara, observing the battle from afar, notes most of those who lost their lives to Moro's energy absorption won't be restored. Still, the residents of New Namek who died to Moro's energy absorption (but not to his actual physical attacks) do return, as the planet's Dragon Balls kept them from decaying.

While Vegeta does remain dominant for the rest of the chapter, the Saiyan Prince spends quite a while monologuing, which results in Moro using his magic to escape and kill Seven-Three -- who possesses a copy ability -- to get a back-up of his own powers. Moro returns stronger than ever and is able to take down the surprised Vegeta. Moro reveals his new form, and as the chapter ends, prepares to face off against the Z-Fighters, whom he was easily able to beat last time and with much less power.

Although the move didn't finish off Moro for good in Dragon Ball Super Chapter 61, Forced Spirit Fission is incredibly powerful and introduces an intriguing new ability to the long-running franchise. Forced Spirit Fission seems to be able to strip the power from anyone who absorbs their strength from others or is the result of a fusion. Vegeta brags that he would be able to defuse Piccolo from Nail and Kami, should the Namekian so choose, and Goku explains, "Forced Spirit Fission... it tears apart things that were combined through fusion or absorption."

This move then gives Vegeta the ability to theoretically split up combinations like Gotenks, Fused Zamasu and so many other powerful fusions that have proven dominant in the Dragon Ball franchise. There are theoretically endless possibilities for Forced Spirit Fission's use in the franchise, and in mastering such a difficult move, Vegeta has found a new way to level the playing field in future battles.

Dragon Ball Super Chapter 62 releases July 20.
