As the threats facing Earth became all the more grave, tournaments became less of a thing for Dragon Ball. Dragon Ball Super brought them back, giving fans not only the Tournament of Destroyers waged between Universe 6 and 7, but the Tournament of Power, an 80-person battle royale featuring warriors from all across the multiverse. Each universe made sure to pack their team with warriors that, while they may not have all been powerhouses, possessed skills suited for knocking opponents off of an arena-based setting.

Universe 7's team featured most of the main cast who'd always stepped up to defend Earth, and while U7 ultimately won, they limited themselves in their selection of warriors. There are plenty of other characters whose abilities would've been suited for the Tournament of Power, as well as ways to entice them to fight for their very existence.

10 Majin Buu

Majin Buu's abilities make him an invaluable ally in any fight. His regeneration meant that he could persevere through attacks that would otherwise cripple him. After a few hours of training, Buu became a lot faster and stronger, making him even more apt for close-combat.

Unfortunately, he fell into a deep slumber minutes before the Tournament of Power commenced, but it's hard to believe that absolutely nothing could wake him up. With the Dragon Radar on hand, Goku and the others could've collected the Dragon Balls in minutes in order to ask Shenlong to wake him up.

9 Broly

Broly smashes Super Saiyan God Goku around in Dragon Ball Super: Broly

It's hard to believe that Broly had been living in the same universe as Goku and Vegeta for so long without ever being detected. Without anyone to fight, the Saiyan would've never had an excuse to showcase the raw power that remained dormant in him for so long.

The Tournament of Power was teased by Zeno months before it actually happened; if Goku and the others were smart, they would've scoured Universe 7's many planets to find warriors with unique abilities that they just weren't aware of. Eventually, they would've stumbled upon Broly, and after seeing that another full-blooded Saiyan was alive, would've made sure to prepare him for the fight of his life.

8 Yurin

Dragon Ball Super - Yurin Controls Master Roshi

Yurin's prowess with witchcraft would enable her to be a pretty effective team member for Universe 7. With her magic talismans, she can command other warriors to fight for her, meaning that if she were lucky enough to stick a talisman onto a fighter from another universe, she could wreak havoc with powers that weren't at all hers.

Since she isn't much of a fighter herself, a stronger, faster warrior would have to both place the talisman on her target and defend her while she controlled them. Still, this strategy would force some fighters to go up against their own allies. Since the talismans can't be destroyed by simple ki blasts, they'd have to hit their teammate with a fierce attack to free them from Yurin's grip.

7 Pikkon

Pikkon Deals a Heavy Blow to King Cold

When fans first learned that a dead Frieza would serve as Universe 7's final team member, they began to list other warriors from the Afterlife that would have joined the fray alongside him.

Pikkon was already greater than a Super Saiyan 2 in terms of power, which makes him stronger than most of the other warriors in the Tournament of Power, not to mention the pure Earthlings that fought on behalf of Universe 7. Being the hero that he is, Pikkon wouldn't hesitate to fight for his universe's existence.

6 Future Trunks

Super Saiyan Future Trunks Charges in Dragon Ball Super fight

Future Trunks came a long way since his first appearance in Dragon Ball Z. He returned in Dragon Ball Super not only with the ability to become a Super Saiyan 2, but gained access to his own Super Saiyan Rage transformation, which allowed him to hold his own against god-level foes.

While Trunks wouldn't be able to use his sword in the Tournament of Power, he's proven to be a capable enough warrior without it, and he has experience fighting alongside Goku and Vegeta against powerful opponents. Despite being from a different timeline, he's technically from Universe 7, and since Future Zeno was allowed to spectate the tournament, it would only be fair that Future Trunks would be able to compete.

5 Cell

Dragon Ball Z Vegeta Cell

When Frieza first debuted his Golden Form, many Dragon Ball fans played with the idea of "Golden Cell," since he contained Frieza's DNA. He might not be stronger than Frieza at this current point in Dragon Ball Super, but he has plenty of advantages all his own. For one thing, he's already stronger than most of the characters that were already a part of Universe 7's team, and his reverence for tournaments would make him more inclined to participate in a multi-universal battle royale where defeating his opponents would lead to their eradication.

Cell didn't seem to have a problem holding back against weaker opponents (sparing Mr. Satan's life after Satan attacked him during the Cell Games), and his regenerative abilities, multi-form technique, and mastery over Instant Transmission would make him a pretty hard foe to beat. Due to his Saiyan cells, there's no doubt that Cell would unlock new heights to his power after being able to stretch his legs outside of Earth's Hell for the first time in years.

4 Dabra

Anime Dragon Ball Z - Dabura

Dabra's ability to turn others into stone with his spit makes him dangerous. This ability would be perfect for the Tournament of Power, since he could easily petrify his opponents, rendering them incapable of fighting – before dropping them out of the arena, or even leaving them on the arena floor and forcing their allies to fight with more caution, holding back so that they wouldn't destroy their allies.

The only thing that could reverse the effects of Dabra's spit was his death, but the fact that he's already dead might mean that the effects of his saliva are now temporary. Being the reformed demon that he now is, Dabra might have even found a non-lethal way to reverse the effects of his saliva.

3 Captain Ginyu

Captain Ginyu's Body Change technique would be a huge ace in the hole for Universe 7. Since his opponents would be from other universes, they wouldn't know what to expect until it was too late. Even if Ginyu ended up being unable to draw out the full power of his victims, once he managed to steal their bodies, their team members would be forced to eliminate him.

Of course, another God of Destruction would be quick to call such a strategy cheating, but since Captain Ginyu's technique doesn't force him to kill anyone, it would most likely be allowed. Similar to Frieza, the promise of reviving him (and his whole squad even) would be enough for him to swear temporary allegiance with the Dragon Team and fight alongside them.

2 Guldo

Dragon Ball Z - Guldo Versus Gohan and Krillin

Guldo was regarded as the weakest member of the Ginyu Force, but his telekinetic abilities and power to temporarily freeze time were what made him such a threat. His powers don't come anywhere close to Hit's Time-Skip, but he could use them to save other members of Universe 7 from falling out of the ring.

Like Frieza, he loathes Saiyans (especially Vegeta), but the promise of reviving the rest of the Ginyu Force if Universe 7 won would most likely be enough to entice him to get back on the battlefield.

1 Monster Carrot

Monster Carrot Turns Bulma into a Carrot

Monster Carrot's fate is largely unknown; he was sent to live on the moon, which Master Roshi was forced to destroy later on, but in Dragon Ball Super's manga, he was seen watching Merus from the moon.

His ability to turn others into a carrot with a single touch is perfect for the Tournament of Power, especially given the fact that this technique doesn't kill them, so once they were dropped out of the ring, he could always turn them back to their normal forms. Of course, Monster Carrot would have to rely on other warriors to help him get close to his victims, but who's to say this technique wouldn't work on strong fighters like Jiren, if only for a few seconds?
