After the Tournament of Power's conclusion, many Dragon Ball Super fans wondered when they'd be able to see Goku and friends onscreen once again. The Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie came and went, and so did the Super Dragon Ball Heroes promotional anime, once again leaving fans with no more new animation for the series.

While some fans of Dragon Ball Super prefer to stick to the anime's rendition of events, there are many fans who've dived right into the manga– not only being quick to point out its deviations from the anime, but also all the things about the series that were revealed in the manga that are glossed over or not even mentioned in the show.

10 Vegeta's Strongest Attack

Manga Vegeta's Gamma Burst Flash

Almost every character in Dragon Ball touts a powerful attack that's often used as a finisher against powerful opponents. Goku's is easily the Kamehameha (and in rare cases, the Genki Dama), and while many fans uphold Vegeta's Final Flash as his strongest, most devastating attack, his Gamma Burst Flash puts it to shame.

Debuted during the manga's rendition of the fight against Goku Black and Zamasu, his Gamma Burst Flash enabled him to blow both opponents to bits in a flash. Unfortunately, this technique was never used in the anime, and while it has been featured in some video games, only readers of Dragon Ball Super's manga are aware of the attack's true origins.

9 Ultra Instinct Was The Culmination Of All Of Goku's Teachings

Goku Realizes That Ultra Instinct Is A Culimination of his Teachings

Many Dragon Ball Super anime fans felt as if Ultra Instinct came a bit too easily to Goku after his own Genki Dama was reflected back at him. The manga makes more of an effort to legitimize Goku's attainment of the form. During a discussion with Whis, he realizes that his early teachings with Mr. Popo & Kami, Karin, and Kaio, focused on sharpening his spirit and efficiency in battle.

Coupled with the divine training from Whis that Goku received throughout the series, along with his naturally dense mind, it becomes easier to understand why he was able access the technique during his battle with Jiren. This also explains why Vegeta could never do the same, since he didn't receive the same training that Goku had received throughout the course of his life.

8 Beerus Is One Of The Strongest Gods Of Destruction

Beerus Vs Other Gods of Destruction in the Zen Expo

Despite all being Gods of Destruction, some are just more powerful than others. This is why Frieza was able to stop Sidra's Sphere of Destruction, but couldn't do a thing against Toppo's. Many fans were left wondering where Beerus fell in terms of power among his divine colleagues, but the manga shed more light on this inquiry with its depiction of the Zen Expo. Every God of Destruction took to the arena in a brief battle royale in which they all teamed up on Beerus due to the fact that a mortal from his universe started the Tournament of Power in the first place.

Beerus was able to take them all on without significant trouble, and in the end, he & Quitela were the last ones left standing. While this proves that he is one of the strongest gods, the fact that he and Quitela never got the chance to settle things means fans will be left speculating whether he's truly the strongest.

7 Master Roshi Has The Capacity To Learn Ultra Instinct

Master Roshi Dodging Jiren's Punches

Since it was first debuted by Goku, fans have debated which characters would be able to access Ultra Instinct given enough training, with Master Roshi proving that he would definitely be able to. In the manga, he went up against Jiren during the Tournament of Power, avoiding many of the Universe 11 fighter's attacks before being eliminated by using a free moving technique that enabled his body to automatically react to danger, similar to Ultra Instinct.

This was due to Master Roshi's centuries of experience & dedication to the craft of martial arts, and if given a few years with Whis, there's no doubt he'd comprehend the ins and outs of Ultra Instinct better than any other mortal.

6 Mortals Can Use "Hakai"

Beerus and Goku Using Hakai, Dragon Ball Super

While anyone can pretty much become a God of Destruction, there seem to be special privileges reserved for those who actually attain the status. Not only is their lifespan increased, with every God of Destruction having been around for millennia, but they also gain dominion over Energy of Destruction, which is used to instantly destroy planets and organisms while shielding themselves from oncoming attacks.

"Hakai," a technique debuted by Beerus and later used by Sidra in the anime, uses Energy of Destruction to disintegrate whatever a God of Destruction aims their palms at, but this technique isn't limited to deities. During the manga's battle against Fused Zamasu, Goku found himself forced into a corner and used Hakai on his adversary, practically destroying him & proving that mortals, albeit ones that can manipulate god ki, could use a much less efficient version of Hakai themselves.

5 What Goku's Training With The Yardrats Consisted Of

Vegeta trains on Planet Yardrat in Dragon Ball Super

While every Dragon Ball fan knows that Goku's Instant Transmission came from his training with the people of Planet Yardrat, no one knew what his actual training consisted of. Recent chapters of Dragon Ball Super's manga shed a bit of light on this after Vegeta went to receive the same training that Goku did all those years ago.

Not only did fans meet the actual Yardrat that taught Goku, but they were introduced to the concept of Spirit Control, an energy manipulation technique that must be mastered in order for one to use Instant Transmission in the first place.

4 The Workings Of The Galactic Patrol

Jaco Talks About the Galactic Patrol, Dragon Ball Super

There's enough information out there to get a good idea as to who Jaco is, but not much is known about the Galactic Patrol that he claims to be an elite member of.

Without giving away too much, the next arc of Dragon Ball Super's manga put the Galactic Patrol front-and-center, giving fans a more in-depth look at their hierarchy, base of operations, and members.

3 Angel Laws

Whis Says Angels Who Disobey Laws Are Destroyed, Dragon Ball Destroyed

It's clear that the Angels play by a different set of rules than anyone else in the Dragon Ball multiverse. During the Tournament of Power, Gods of Destruction and Kais were erased, but every Angel remained untouched. Many fans got the sense that Angels preferred not to interfere with the events of the mortal world, but some wondered what would happen if they did.

It wasn't until Dragon Ball Super's anime introduced fans to Merus, the young Angel who decided to enlist in the Galactic Patrol, that fans learned of the dire consequences Angels would face if they resolved mortal affairs.

2 Buu's Biology

Grand Supreme Kai Takes Over Buu's Body to Fight Moro, Dragon Ball Super

In Dragon Ball Z, fans learned that Kid Buu was Buu's original form, and that the fat, childlike Majin Buu that everyone has come to love came about after he absorbed the Grand Supreme Kai before the events of the main story.

In Dragon Ball Super's manga, fans not only get to see more of the Grand Supreme Kai after he's called upon to help deal with the most recent conflict in the series, but for a brief period of time, he takes over completely, switching places with Buu. This makes many fans wonder if other parties that Buu absorbs could do the same under the right conditions.

1 The Identity Of The Next Villain

Moro bides his time in prison in Dragon Ball Super manga

In a series where destroying planets becomes something that many characters could do in their sleepDragon Ball Super's writers must go above and beyond to create villains who are strong enough to outshine those that came before them. Fans of the manga have had a lot of time to get acquainted with Moro, the next major villain.

They know his techniques, fighting style, motivations, history, and at this point, his undoing. It's a shame that anime-only fans will have to wait many more months to see what manga readers have known for weeks now, but of course, no one will be disappointed once Moro makes his on-screen debut.
