A large part of Dragon Ball Z's success has to do with its flashy transformations. Not only did heroes like Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan gain the ability to change their hair and aura, but every major villain also undertook multiple forms that affected their intelligence, appearance, and most importantly, their strength. In Dragon Ball Superfans were excited to see Goku and Vegeta gain the ability to harness god ki, which ultimately led to their discovery of the Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan form, otherwise known as Super Saiyan Blue. With their new powers, Goku and Vegeta have been able to accomplish some pretty impressive feats, but there's still quite a few things about this new transformation that don't completely add up.

10 Drains So Much Stamina Despite Practically Being Mastered By Goku And Vegeta

Although the original Super Saiyan form was difficult to maintain due to substantial energy demands, Saiyans learned over time how to use the form indefinitely. On appearance alone, it looks like Goku and Vegeta have lessened the stamina demand that Super Saiyan Blue places on them, since they can casually transform into Super Saiyan Blues without much effort, but when Goku fought against Dyspo during the Tournament of Power, he alternated between Super Saiyan God and Super Saiyan Blue in order to conserve his stamina. We would've thought that by the time the Tournament of Power begun, they would've completely overcome Super Saiyan Blue's stamina drain with the ease that they can tap into this form's power.

9 An Android Can Come Close To It's Power

In Dragon Ball Super's anime, Goku wanted to test Android 17's power before recruiting him to Universe 7's team, and quickly found himself resorting to his Super Saiyan Blue powers in a sparring match. The two were evenly matched, although it was obvious that they were both holding back. Nevertheless, an Android shouldn't have the potential to rival a Super Saiyan with god ki, especially since Android 17's strongest enemies for the past few years were poachers with rocket launchers. Unless he's been bench-pressing islands, he shouldn't even be able to come close to a Super Saiyan God in terms of raw power.

8 The Requirements For Super Saiyan Blue Evolved

Entry 8 - Vegeta Unlocks Super Saiyan Blue Evolved

Throughout the Dragon Ball franchise, "breaking one's limits" has become a signature trope. To break one's limits, one must be placed in a stressful situation while having an intense, emotional desire. In remembering his promise to revive Cabba using the Super Dragon Balls, Vegeta unlocked his most powerful form yet, Super Saiyan Blue Evolution. But why was now the time that this form chose to reveal itself? Goku had just as much of an emotional response after finding out that Goku Black murdered Chi-Chi and Goten in an alternate timeline, and yet all he did was get a short-lived power boost, so what exactly allowed Vegeta to reach this new form, and how did Goku outright skip this form and move straight to Ultra Instinct? We need a definite answer that can explain the logic behind this before Super Saiyan Blue Evolution starts to feel like one big plot device.

7 Considerably Limits The Time Of A Potara Fusion

A huge reason why Goku and Vegeta often opted for Super Saiyan Blue as opposed to Super Saiyan 2 or 3 is because of the ki control that Super Saiyan Blue allows. Lacking the expressive hair changes and electric aura, Super Saiyan Blue is a lot more subtle than its predecessor transformations. It's because of this ki control that we believe this form shouldn't shorten a Potara fusion as much as it does. A Super Saiyan Blue Vegito was only able to stay fused for a few seconds, but a Super Saiyan 2 Kefla was able to remain fused for several minutes despite letting her ki literally fly out of her body in every direction. The fact that the Super Saiyan Blue transformation technically makes Vegito a god should actually extend the Potara Fusion by a few minutes, given that a fusion between actual gods, who are differentiated from mortals by their use of god ki, allows them to stay fused forever.

6 A New Super Saiyan 2 Can Push A Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Back

Fans often forget how astronomical of a power gap there is between is a Super Saiyan 1 or 2 with a Super Saiyan Blue, but after watching Dragon Ball Super, we want to know why new Super Saiyans are able to compete with a Super Saiyan Blue. Even with the added power of the Potara fusion, Kefla shouldn't have been so powerful. Her counterparts (Kale and Caulifla) hadn't even heard of a Super Saiyan for more than a week, so even she shouldn't have had the strength to defeat a Super Saiyan Blue, no matter how fatigued he was. We know power levels no longer apply to this series, but the math just doesn't add up here!

5 Requires A Calm Mind Yet Is Powered By Rage

Goku's very first Super Saiyan transformation was triggered by an intense outburst of rage. So was Future Trunks's, Vegeta's, and do we even have to mention Gohan's? With the inclusion of Super Saiyan God transformations in Dragon Ball Super, Goku and Vegeta had to relearn everything they'd known in regards to their transformations. Super Saiyan Blue requires a more tranquil mind than an enraged one, and yet, we see that Goku and Vegeta have been able to tap into even greater levels of this form's power when they're pissed off. This almost makes the form a flying contradiction.

4 Can Transcend Through Dimensions

Vegeta uses the Hyperbolic Time Chamber twice in Dragon Ball Super, and both times, he blew it up with the power of his Super Saiyan Blue ki. The Hyperbolic Time Chamber, as we know, resides in a different dimension. Breaking the door from the inside traps the user there. It took the power of a Super Saiyan 3 to create a temporary porthole in order for Piccolo and Gotenks to escape after Piccolo destroyed the door. While training inside the chamber, Vegeta powered up and not only destroyed it, but was also able to appear back on The Lookout. It's so hard for us to believe that a Super Saiyan Blue can traverse dimensions with such ease. It's one thing to create a tiny porthole to another dimension for a short amount of time. It's another thing to move through entire dimensions just by powering up.

3 Weaker Opponents Shouldn't Be Able To Withstand A Blow From This Form

Saiyans often have a hard time holding back their strength, especially Goku. Even with Super Saiyan Blue's improved ki control, we don't expect Goku to be able to temper his strength against foes who are barely stronger than a Super Saiyan. When Krillin's Kamehameha met Goku's Super Saiyan Blue Kamehameha, it was clear that the Saiyan was holding back 90 percent of his power, but given how strong Super Saiyan Blue is, that remaining 10 percent should've been more than enough to send Krillin to King Yemma in an instant! It just makes more sense for Goku to rely on his standard Super Saiyan form when going up against characters who are already so far below his league.

2 Super Saiyan Blue Goku Was Hurt By Sorbet's Laser

On multiple occasions, characters have deflected and caught gun bullets that would normally tear through a human body, yet in the Dragon Ball Z film Ressurection of 'F', Sorbet's finger laser was enough to penetrate Goku's chest while he was still in his Super Saiyan Blue form. Why didn't his aura nullify the laser? Goku literally possesses the powers of a god, and yet, a manmade laser was all it took to defeat him in this form. By that logic, that laser has the potential to kill most characters in the series.

1 Lacks the Regenerative Abilities of Super Saiyan God

During Goku's battle with Beerus in Dragon Ball Super, the God of Destruction punctured Goku's chest, but his fiery Super Saiyan God aura healed the wound. Goku Black later stabbed Goku in that same spot, but his Super Saiyan Blue aura didn't heal him at all. If Super Saiyan Blue is the next evolution of Super Saiyan God, shouldn't those regenerative abilities carry over? It was inconsistencies like this that led a few fans to believe that Super Saiyan God was actually stronger than Super Saiyan Blue.
