WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Episode 125 of Dragon Ball Super, "A Commanding Presence! The Advent of Top the Destroyer!" which debuted Saturday on Adult Swim.

With only a handful of episodes left to go, Dragon Ball Super is well into the climactic end of the Tournament of Power, which has served as the popular anime series' final storyline. The martial arts competition for the fate of the Dragon Ball Multiverse only has six combatants left and six minutes left on the clock until its completion. However, just as Universe 7 appears to have gained momentum in being the last reality left standing, it quickly becomes clear that its sole remaining rivals from Universe 11 will not go down easily if they go down at all.

Goku and Vegeta continue their team-up against Jiren, the most powerful warrior seen in the entire Dragon Ball franchise to date. The two Saiyan frenemies have been taking on the imposing Pride Trooper for sometime, using uncoordinated attacks to keep him off balance, but as the duo launch a fresh assault, it becomes clear that Jiren is unimpressed and visibly unaffected by their joint efforts. As Goku has unlocked new levels of Kaioken while transformed as a Super Saiyan Blue and Vegeta has been able to channel his Super Saiyan Blue energy more directly, both Gohan and Beerus observing from the sidelines are confident in their fellow Universe 7 fighters' abilities. However, Jiren earlier hinted he had only demonstrated a fraction of his true power and, with the clock ticking, he may soon lose patience to defeat his two opponents.

Meanwhile, Android 17 and Frieza similarly continue to work together to face Jiren's only remaining teammate: Top. While Top has showcased superior strength and endurance, Android 17 unleashes an unrelenting energy attack against his opponent. 17's twin sister Android 18, reveals that due to her brother's cybernetic nature, he won't fatigue like Top, giving Frieza an opportunity to strike while their mutual foe is pinned. Initially, this strategy appears successful, as Top eventually falls under the brunt of Android 17's blast.

The victory is not a permanent one, however, as Top rises and powers up, exhibiting what the Supreme Kai identifies as divine energy. The ethereal aura surrounding the Universe 11 warrior catches the attention of Goku, Vegeta and Jiren during their bout and surprises even the spectator Beerus. The spectators learn that Top has secretly been training to become the next God of Destruction, which would put nearer to the same power level as Beerus, to the Universe 7 God of Destruction's visible annoyance.

Nonplussed by Top's true strength, Frieza resumes his assault against the nascent God of Destruction only to have his attacks completely negated. As Top begins his own offensive, the sheer power radiating from him cracks the entire arena in half, with Frieza quickly finding himself at the mercy of his unrestrained opponent. Continuing to observe the battle, Beerus notices that Top requires a small amount of time to charge his divinely powered attacks, providing a window of vulnerability as he confronts Android 17 once again.

Now with only five minutes left to go in the Tournament of Power, Jiren and Top continue to show new depths of strength, while the remaining fighters from Universe 7 unleash everything they have in a desperate effort to eliminate their opponents. The stakes are the highest they've ever been: If Universe 7 is eliminated, the Grand Zeno presiding over the contest of champions will completely erase their reality from existence. And judging by Jiren and Top's resilience, the tide is about to turn against the Z Fighters.

Newly translated episodes of Dragon Ball Super air on Saturdays at 11 p.m. ET/PT on Adult Swim.
