The latest installment of Dragon Ball Super revealed a new form for Gas.

In Dragon Ball Super Chapter 80, Gas takes a major hit in his fight with Granolah, the last Cerealian. Elec -- the leader of the Heeters -- then comes and removes his headband, which has been sealing his full power, though the other members of the gang are clearly scared by the idea. That's when Gas's transformation takes place. Shortly after, Monaito -- Planet Cereal's Namekian -- describes the form as essentially being Gas's last resort, and the chapter then shows the villain flying into a nearly unstoppable rage. Overall, the form isn't particularly different from Gas's normal look since becoming the strongest fighter in the universe. However, there are some marked differences in terms of his physique and his eyes, leading some online to call this his "berserker" form. Additionally, at the end of the latest installment, Gas centers himself and essentially combines this berserker look with his original powered-up form, meaning Dragon Ball Super Chapter 80 actually has two new looks for Gas.

The current Dragon Ball Super arc, "Granolah the Survivor Saga," opened with the titular Cerealian using his planet's Dragon Balls to become the most powerful fighter in the universe. He did so in hopes of killing Frieza so as to get revenge for the intergalactic tyrant having wiped out all of the other Cerealians. However, the Heeters Gang -- of which Gas is a part -- soon turned Goku and Vegeta loose against Granolah, using them as a distraction so as to get Planet Cereal's Dragon Balls for themselves. They succeeded and then turned Gas into the most powerful fighter in the universe, which is what led to the current brawl.

Dragon Ball Super is the latest canon iteration of the franchise that began with the original Dragon Ball in 1984. The series, which is one of the most popular in all of media, has been adapted to a number of different other mediums, including video games and anime. While the Dragon Ball Super anime stopped airing in 2018, Toei Animation released a movie, Dragon Ball Super: Broly, in 2018.

Another new film, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, is slated to release in Japan on Apr. 22. It's not clear at this time when the film will release internationally. However, producers have said they're working to ensure the gap is as short as possible. In terms of plot, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero will feature the return of the Red Ribbon Army -- one of the franchise's classic villains -- after the group is reformed. This time around, the Red Ribbon Army will be looking to get revenge on Goku with the help from two new Androids: Gamma 1 and Gamma 2.

Published in English by Viz Media, Dragon Ball Super Chapter 81 releases Feb. 20.
