Four new Dragon Ball Super figures have been announced.

The four new toys were revealed on the official Dragon Ball website and are part of Bandai's SH Figuarts line of posable action figures. The wave of collectibles feature Goku, Gohan, Piccolo and Vegeta as they appear in the next Dragon Ball Super animated movie, Super Hero. Goku and Piccolo appear to be pretty similar to their standard appearances, though Piccolo's arms and belt have been recolored to match their appearance in the movie. Vegeta is represented in his simple black body suit without his energy and impact absorbing Frieza Force armor. The Gohan figure will probably be of the most interest to Dragon Ball collectors, as it is the first figure to depict the older Gohan in his new Super Hero costume, which looks very similar to the Piccolo-inspired purple gi he dawned during Dragon Ball Z's Cell Saga.

As with other figures in the SH Figuarts line, each of the new Dragon Ball collectibles with feature smoothly rotating joints to facilitate a wide variety of poses, and will also come with alternate face and hand pieces to further recreate each character's iconic fighting stances and special moves. Prices for the figures have not been announced, but preorders for the toys will open in Japan on Dec. 17, and the new collectibles are expected to be released throughout 2022, with Piccolo arriving first in May and Gohan coming out last in July.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is scheduled to be released sometime in 2022. The latest movie in the series is set several years after the events of the previous movie, Dragon Ball Super: Broly, but still takes place before the 28th Budokai Tenkaichi tournament that was featured in the post-timeskip finale of Dragon Ball Z. The movie will see the introduction of two new fighters, Gamma 1 and Gamma 2, and will see the return of Goku's old foes, the Red Ribbon Army. The movie will also feature a heavy focus on Pan, Gohan's daughter, who is now several years older and has been receiving martial arts training from Piccolo. The film will feature a new CG-animated art style the seeks to combine 3D models with Akira Toriyama's distinct hand-drawn art.

More Dragon Ball announcements are expected at this year's Jump Festa, which kicks off in Chiba, Japan on Dec. 18. Dragon Ball Super manga artist Toyotarou has already revealed the first officially colored art of Ultra Ego Vegeta to promote the Shonen Jump-focused event. A livestream of the event will be available through the official Shonen Jump website and YouTube channel.
