WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Episode 124 of Dragon Ball Super, "The Fiercely Overwhelming Assault! Gohan's Last Stand!!" which debuted Saturday on Adult Swim.

With only Universes 7 and 11 remaining in the Tournament of Power to determine the fate of the Dragon Ball Multiverse, the final storyline of Dragon Ball Super has claimed two more fighters. In the previous episode, Goku and Vegeta unlocked new levels of power as they teamed up to fight Universe 11 champion Jiren to a standstill. With the tournament's strongest fighter preoccupied by the two Saiyan frenemies, the remaining combatants similarly pair off as Gohan and Android 17 face Top while Frieza fights Dyspo.

While fighting against the high-speed Universe 11 warrior, Frieza offers to help Dyspo and his teammates in exchange for the guarantee that he would be resurrected by the Super Dragon Balls. For the entire Tournament of Power, Frieza has been the least-trustworthy member of the Universe 7 team, earlier feigning an alliance with his Universe 6 counterpart, Frost, only to betray him in the end. Additionally, Frieza stated a desire to use the Super Dragon Balls toward his plans of total domination, and his proposed alliance with Dyspo sheds further light on the longtime villain's true motivations.

Frieza's offer is soundly rebuffed, however, causing him to power up to his golden form to overwhelm his opponent. However, Dyspo had similarly concealed his true power, and reveals a form he refers to as Super Maximum Light Speed Mode, significantly augmenting his already-impressive power levels and blinding-fast speeds. Even in his golden form, Frieza is unable to keep up with his rival, and is quickly overpowered, running the risk of elimination.

Sensing their teammate is in trouble, Android 17 agrees to continue battling Top alone while Gohan leaves the bout to assist Frieza. With Dyspo's speed in his new form difficult for even Grand Zeno to track, Gohan opts to trade blows with Dyspo while Frieza creates an energy cage around them to limit the amount of space for his opponent to maneuver. Initially effective, Frieza begins to lose strength, causing the cage to dissipate.

Desperate, and with only minutes left to go in the tournament, Gohan grabs Dyspo before he can use his speed to regain the advantage. As Gohan restrains Dyspo, Frieza unleashes an attack that blasts both fighters out of the arena, effectively eliminating them from the Tournament of Power. After Gohan's noble sacrifice for the fate of Universe 7, only Jiren and Top remain to represent Universe 11, while Universe 7 still has Goku, Vegeta, Frieza and Android 17.

The Tournament of Power as promised a wish with the all-powerful Super Dragon Balls to the winning martial-arts team from one of the realities in the Dragon Ball Multiverse, while losers have their worlds erased from existence by Grand Zeno. Although Universe 11 may be outnumbered by Universe 7, Jiren is more than holding his own against the combined forces of Goku and Vegeta. However, Android 17 may be in over his head fighting against Top. And with only minutes to go until Grand Zeno wraps the tournament without a victor, the stakes have risen considerably.

Newly translated episodes of Dragon Ball Super air on Saturdays at 11 p.m. ET/PT on Adult Swim.
