Dragon Ball Super Introduces Vegeta's New Form: Ultra Ego

At the end of Dragon Ball Super Chapter 74, Vegeta boasted that his power was "unbounded." Initially, Granolah is confused about what this means, but a massive burst of energy makes clear Vegeta is significantly stronger than before. Rushing forward the Saiyan Prince grabs his opponent by the scarf and tells him to "get ready for a dose of my tough love."

And Vegeta indeed gives Granolah some of his tough love. The hero begins throwing Granolah all around Planet Cereal, proving that he's far surpassed his previous power level. While Granolah does manage to get some hits in on Vegeta, they don't phase the Saiyan, who claims, "The hotter my battle soul burns the stronger I grow."

With each new blow, Vegeta comes back stronger than before. Soon, he takes the fighting to the ruins of a Cerealian city, doing massive damage to what remains of Granolah's heritage. After a brief conversation about just what a God of Destruction is, Vegeta reveals that his battle with Granolah has awakened a new, innate power inside of him. Granolah then tries to blast Vegeta with a series of energy attacks, but the Saiyan proves too much for him.

Hiding inside an energy shield, Granolah is initially unable to understand why Vegeta isn't even bothering to dodge Granolah's attacks, realizing that his opponent's transformation is unlike that of Goku. "Don't you dare compare his pathetic technique to my own," Vegeta says. "Kakarrot's body may have a mind of its own, but I'm all ego. In fact, go ahead and call this Ultra Ego." Thus, Vegeta's new transformation officially has a name: Ultra Ego. Honestly, he might have wanted to workshop that one a bit.

Granolah Steps Up in His Fight Against Vegeta

Vegeta and Granolah fight in Dragon Ball Super Chapter 75, by Akira Toriyama and Toyotarou.

After Vegeta dropkicks Granolah through his shield, the last Cerealian expresses his anger that he's going to lose to a Saiyan before he's able to get to Freeza. However, Vegeta then starts explaining Freeza also wiped out the Saiyans and that he himself doesn't like the the villain. It's clear that Vegeta is attempting to get Granolah to stop fighting, but the Cerealian digs in his heels. Even if Vegeta is telling the truth, Granolah won't stop trying to get revenge on the Saiyans.

Granolah tries to strike Vegeta, but the Saiyan ends up just punting him into the sky. On top of one of the ruined buildings, Oatmeel -- the artificial intelligence inside Granolah's eye patch -- tries to convince him to stop fighting. Instead, though, Granolah just throws Oatmeel away, saying he no longer needs his help. Later, Granolah's ship picks Oatmeel up and flies away. The relationship between the two thus seems like it's come to an end, at least for now. This also continues Granolah's pattern of hurting the people closest to him in his search for vengeance.

Realizing that he's going to need to change his strategy to beat Vegeta, Granolah starts throwing pieces of the Cerealian ruins at his opponent. Knowing nothing will dissuade Granolah from his path, Vegeta starts throwing down once again. The two exchange a bunch of deadly blows. As this is happening, Goku gets up and senses the battle. The Saiyan observes that Vegeta seems to be losing some of the strength that he had earlier, Granolah is starting to get the hang of fighting. Goku then starts trying to heal himself, knowing he'll soon be needed.

Vegeta's Battle With Granolah Takes a Bad Turn

After unleashing a barrage of energy attacks against Granolah, Vegeta's vision starts to blur -- he's "taken far too much damage." Granolah, though, isn't ready to go down just yet, pointing his finger guns at Vegeta in hopes of taking the Saiyan out with an energy blast. Vegeta then resolves to finish the battle quickly, throwing an energy ball intended to destroy the planet. Granolah fires his blasts into the energy ball, causing a massive explosion that shakes the entire planet.

When the dust settles, Vegeta is lying on the ground, while Granolah remains standing. "I have to thank you, Saiyan," Granolah says, mocking his opponent. "You're responsible for drawing out this power of mine." So while Vegeta may still be alive and conscious, his battle against Granolah is almost certainly at an end. His opponent has once again surpassed him, and Vegeta has added another loss to his fighting record.

Dragon Ball Super Chapter 75 doesn't end with Vegeta losing to Granolah, though. Elsewhere on Planet Cereal, the Heeters are still looking to collect the Dragon Balls. The villainous group, which tricked Granolah into fighting against Goku and Vegeta, wants to get the Dragon Balls for some nefarious purpose, though exactly what isn't clear at this time. So it looks likely that, even if the three fighters survive their battle, they'll soon after have to face the Heeters -- and whatever power-up they get from the Dragon Balls.

Dragon Ball Super Chapter 76 does not have a confirmed English release date through Viz Media at this time.
